Everyone keeps overlooking Sierra Wilson at Alabama. She finished 5th nationally and 2nd in the SEC in 2013 trailing only Kreklow. In 2012, as a freshmen, she was 2nd in the SEC finishing ahead of Kreklow. Expect Wilson to be the best in the SEC this year. Best at what...setting?

Beware the Dawgs! Plenty of talent on the bench last year will get a chance to replace seniors this year.

"A&M : Babers (with the right setter, she will be better than Sullivan! ), Sullivan, Lowack"
While I agree that Babers is much more athletic, they are two different middles with her and Sullivan. Sullivan gets her points behind the setter vs Babers in front of the setter. Defending behind the setter is much more difficult in my opinion.
I see with the loss of Patrick that Lowak and Hardesty will be outsides and two freshman will be on the right with Reasor and Aiple setting. The key to the Aggies success or lack of this season will be the ability to have the pin hitters play six rotations well.
Sawatsky will be difficult to replace because she started to put a better ball to the outside her senior year than in the past, had a great connection with Sullivan and scored lots of points on second ball attack.
I see the Aggies needing to start well in conference to have a chance this season as they have a few matches that are against really good teams in pre conference. I think they are a year away from a possible two deep run in ncaa if they don't keep going to Austin regional

Florida's middles could be better this year than last. Which is crazy to think about with the loss of Mann. Alhassan, Antwi, and Joseph are all really elite athletes w/ national level experience.

I saw that Mary Wise posted that Alhassan recorded a 32" vertical and Joseph a 36" vertical. how good are these numbers compared to other top-level collegiate athlete verts? i read somewhere that Hooker had a 43" vertical but she was the NCAA high-jump champion.

Alhassan touches 11'1" so she would compare favorably to nearly every woman on the planet. That said, to the previous remark, no, Florida will not be better in the middle this year because as a freshman I don't see her hitting .506 like Chloe Mann did last year.

What they lose on offense should easily be made up for on defense. Mann was all world offensively, but her D left a lot to be desired. Biggest question is who ends up starting for them at the 2 middle spots IMO

It's going to be between belcher Santos lamb and gabby. I'm more partial to lamb starting and having belcher be the other both of them are quicker. But gabby puts up a bigger block though and sometimes blocks the slide well...sometimes.

She's my bet for L2. IMO her and Mallette/Santos-Lamb will be the outsides. I personally think it will be Mallette though. What are y'all's thoughts on who will set? I wasn't super impressed with Dagostino in the spring game but I haven't seen much of Detering either.

Dagastinos floor defense foot speed volleyball iq and lefty attack is impressive as well as deterring's on two. I still think Dagastino is the way to go unless her size becomes too much of a blocking liability in bigger matches but she seems to be able to hold her own at the net.

I think they are a year away from a possible two deep run in ncaa if they don't keep going to Austin regional Oh please! Every opponent knew Sullivan would be running the slide (including us) and the good ones camped on that! Yes Swatsky finally started to set better towards the middle of her senior year but just better than before. Her 2nd ball attacks were only good against the weaker teams. She telegraphed her sets and attacks and every good team read her well... lets move on from this... Babers has a major upside. I think she is AA material if developed and set properly. Not sure who will set this team this year. I think that position is up for grabs... at least this year it is. Lowack will most likely become OH1 and I would guess Hardsty as OH2 with a few subs coming in occasionally. Libero has to be Arenas. I don't think we will see too many DSes this year other than occasionally. A&M will need to rely on their OHs to pass decent balls. It will be a tough battle for them to stay in the top 4 of the SEC this year.

Washington at psu is close to that and it is a pretty insane ceiling
