I hope they have good insurance!
I have zero knowledge of water systems engineering, but here is a question, why can't they just turn the water off?

Looks like they're in the middle of camp, too! That floor may have to be ripped out, definitely sanded down and refinished.

Honestly, I've been on that campus a ton of times and these photos make me feel awful.
Wish the campus a speedy recovery.

I guess they couldn't just shut it down quickly otherwise there would have been more damage caused to the system.

They can still play at Wooden, no?

Volleyball's been mostly scheduled for Wooden this year anyway.
This was the result of a blown water main on campus, spewing something like 30,000 gallons of water a minute. I believe the city couldn't shut off the water immediately without creating more damage and problems in other places.

This has been center stage on the local news broadcasts. They said LA is eight years behind schedule in water pipe maintenance.

And, naturally, some of UCLA's top high school recruits were either at the camp or visiting Westwood today. Murphy's law and all.

When you combine water issues and Los Angeles, I think of the movie Chinatown.
