Which Rolfzen is the OP referring to? ... Hey, maybe they think Amber is going to have a big year? We have people suggesting that there are 3 better outsides than Haley Eckermann so I'm not taking anything for granted.

OH: Vansant, Eckerman MB: Ajanaku, Ogbogu S: Carlini, Hancock RS: Nwanebu, Higgins L: Moster, Nolan Completely forgot about Higgins on the RS she is elite. Nolan what team does she play for? I had thought Moster had graduated but she is returning yes she is definitely one of the best liberos in the country. Nolan will be the libero for ISU next year and has been behind Hahn the past 2 years.

I googled "volleyball higgins" and I get a freshman setter from Hawaii and a sophomore DS at Oklahoma, so can we use full names at some point? Which Rolfzen is the OP referring to? Christina Higgins from Cal!

I think the lack of full name use is because these players are pretty well known. As someone had already mentioned it is Christina Higgins from Cal. In regards to which Rolfzen only one of the sisters played Outside Hitter for Nebraska and I listed her under that spot so it is Kadie, Amber plays RS/OPP.

Full disclosure, I went to a bunch of Cal games last year and me and my friends were absolutely shocked and bewildered that Higgins was 2nd team AA. A very capable player, but 2nd-team AA was a bit of a reach. I think Karsta Lowe would have been better suited in that spot.
I think as far as Opposites go, it's Hamson, Nwanebu, and Lowe at the top this year. Ogbogu and Nichol make a case as well, unless they spend time in the Middle and Setter positions respectively.

Bahaha. Bugg ahead of Hancock. Go away. To be fair, micha is a far better overall player, but PURE setting wise, bugg and carlini are better. I would take micha anyday of the week though

Maybe it was a stats thing, but everyone knew you had to stop one player for UCLA, Lowe, and she still had a great year.

Why was Nora included in this conversation? I mean she has decent numbers but one of the top OPPs in the country? Not really.

I bet she'll be a force this year. A top 3 opposite in the country though, or even a top 5/6 RS? I'd agree with you, that's pushing it.

Nwaanebu, Higgins and Chantale Riddle are the only returning AA opposites, plus Ogbogu listed as an MB and Hamson from 2012, so theoretically she would have to surpass one of those players. Lowe and Holston from the HM AA lists also have pretty strong cases, and A Rolfzen or Courtney (if she plays there) also have the potential to be All-American. Big Ten is a very competitive conference for rightsides with Cole, Fitterer, Drews and Nichol at Purdue, McMahon. It'll even be an admirable feat if Nora gets all-conference.

No....Better all around player...yes there are three or more. Sophomore year there were not 3 better players in the country. Last year Robinson and Vansant were better so she was the 3rd best OH and no worse than the 5th best player. She'll be a 3x Big 12 MVP, a 4 time All-American with 3 First Teams and a second team to her belt. She won AVCA Freshman of the Year and followed that with 3 POY awards (Volleyball Magazine x2, Cobra Magazine) in the last two seasons. Inconveniently for many, Haley Eckermann is on her way to what could be one of the greatest careers in the history of our sport, the best resume since Megan Hodge. Forgive me if I have a hard time taking seriously anyone who thinks there are 3 better players at her position.
