Is Central College still a player? They won 3 straight championships 98, 99, and 2000.

Central has been bad for a while now, so has Oshkosh...

Wittenberg is right up there. Very well run program with a great head coach! Witt should be glad that they have kept Paco there all of this time!

I'd put Cal Lutheran up there too.

UW whitewater and UW Oshkosh did not even win their conference last year. Both programs on the downswing. Terrible recruiting lately.

Agreed. Out of that group, I would say Wash U, Juniata, Emory and St. Thomas (MN)are still strong on a regular basis. Although they don't have the same long-term history, Calvin, Elmhurst and Cal Lutheran have been doing well lately. All these teams are well-coached and have solid recruiting. Wash U uncharacteristically finished out of top 10 last year with an interim coach. Should bounce back this year with new HC transferring in from U Chicago, where she turned the program around. Heather Pavlik at Juniata is a solid coach (husband is Penn St. Men's HC, BTW) and Jenny McDowell at Emory has delivered winning records for years, so I don't see much changing at those programs.

Do these schools have players that would make an impact on some of the power D1 schools?

At the power D1 programs, likely no. In fact you could probably say that upwards of 90% of the programs in D1 itself don't have those kind of players. While there are many girls at the top D3 programs possessing D1 skill levels, it would be a stretch to say that they would make an impact at places like PSU, Texas, Stanford, et al.

All eyes are on Washington U. New coach coming into a program with a legendary history. Walking in the footsteps of Rich Luenemann and Teri Clemens.

Do these schools have players that would make an impact on some of the power D1 schools? The Mountain West freshman of the year transferred to California Lutheran, and so yes. And you could make a case that 2x AA players Jenna Grasmeye - Hope, Sydney Miles - Emory, Kelly Foley - St. Thomas, and Audrey Krajec - Millikin, along with Allier Frappier - Pomona (All Ivy League her freshman year at Yale) are all expected to do more this season.
