Speaking of passing and backcourt defense who will me replacing your teams stud libero from last season. I thought they would maybe move Strickland to that position but she is listed on the roster as an OH. Is Scambray solid in the backrow, would she be a six rotation player? Strickland is actually listed on the roster as a L/DS. Say what? Hmm. You are right. But my memory says that's not the way it was yesterday, when Mocha first posted the link.

how come freshmen never make the pre-season all conference teams a poll is ok, pre-season all-conference teams I think are so silly Why would it be any sillier than polls, they are both totally speculative? Wouldn't the poll be based on the quality of players?

I am an outsider to the PAC12 living in the the midwest - so I am not invested in any of these teams, but also don't have nearly the offseason information. In my view, the top three are so close that a reasonable forecast of any of the three winning the conference can be made. What I find surprisiing is almost everyone on this board is picking Stanford to win or as the favorite.
Based on how the teams played last season and the players lost to graduation - I see USC a tick below the other two. I am guessing that USC must have had the stronger recruiting class - which would tell me that they may have a higher upside, but probably a lower floor? If I remember correctly, Washington has a couple talented RS Freshman - and they return the best OH in the country. I am still where I was back in January:
1) Washington 2) Stanford 3) USC
And this is probably where I start the National poll - maybe Texas becomes #3.

Pre-season all-conference teams are beyond "silly". They are down-right stupid! If you going to have a pre-season all-conference, how about a pre-season player of the year and coach of the year? I know you were joking but the Big12 just announced their pre-season player of the year and (get this) their pre-season FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR. www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=209605870

In any case, looks like a pretty conservative pre-season poll; coaches probably didn't feel the need to rock the boat. I agree it's going to be a triumvirate at the top, with a larger group bunched up at a level below. Should be a fun season. #ScoDucks

I too am a little out of the loop with the middle teams in the PAC-12, but holy crap, Colorado added some height to their squad, DANG!!!
Of course they have to play as a team as anyone should/would, but they should move up in the polls this season and seasons to come. It's pretty cool to see them grow the program.

What boat is there to rock? How many losses did the top 3 have to the rest of the league? WSU beat USC...
