I think it is time to start a discussion about the Wisconsin boys season starting in just over a week. Who are the top teams/players in the state? Any opinions out there?

Brook East I think are the early favorites. MUHS should be good again, but lost a lot. If they can pull the old "Marquette doesn't rebuild, they reload" trick with Heinen and Foley, they should challenge. Still early on it looks like the Beast is going to be the favorite.
Not sure about Fox Valley or Madison teams though.

Agreed, Beast is the fav by FAR.
Here are my opinions of strong teams, in order of strength, by sectional (I also ranked sectionals by strength in terms of quality teams, top is strongest):
Sectional 8: Brookfield East Tosa East Tosa West
Sectional 1: Kaukauna Appleton North Kimberly
Sectional 3: Catholic Memorial Waukesha West
Sectional 5: Westosha Central Burlington Kenosha Tremper
Sectional 2: Germantown Arrowhead Fond du Lac Homestead
Sectional 4: Middleton Kettle Moraine Mukwanago
Sectional 6: Muskego Horlick
Sectional 7: Marquette

I agree that Brookfield east should be the heavy favorite. Especially since they didn't lose any seniors since last year and only lost 19-17 to the overall state champions. Who do you guys think will be some of the top players at each position? (S, L, MB, OH, OPP).

Overall, barring any injuries, B-East is by far the most solid team with strong players at every position. The only question in my mind is do they go with the 6-2 again or 5-1 with Josh Schmirler at setter (he set most of the year for Lightning 17's).

Beast running 6-2 = dominate Beast running 5-1 = even more dominate
Doesn't really matter ...

B-East has a few kids who set for their good club teams. Several options to run different rotations and keep opponents off-guard.

What about that big tall kid who played for West Allis ... I think 16's. What school does he play for?

Pretty sure he goes to a high school without a boys team. Watertown maybe.

Did Westosha Central change Coach's. Thought he moved on to coach college.
