Hmmm. It is listed at the end of my sports tier but I am not authorized for it. I guess I will have to call Charter and figure out if I can get it.

I am an Aggie Alum and would have a hard time wanting to watch all the Aggie matches...That program needs an overhaul...

How is anyone making a ton of money broadcasting volleyball matches? That's the beauty of the cable business. As long as it's on your TV plan, and they're collecting subscriber fees (which are really high for sports channels) from you, they aren't really concerned about VB matches pulling in ratings. They literally just need content so they don't put old football games on a 24-hour loop.

While these conference networks and LHN have been focused on carriage deals to generate their revenue from subscriber fees, to become truly profitable (and maximize revenue distributed to the schools) they have to generate advertising revenue as well. Advertising revenue is driven by the rates a channel charges which are in turn driven by the ratings a channel gets. I looked at the LHN financial model a while back. Subscriber fees are only one piece of the revenue stream. Alone they will not be enough to cover the operating costs of a network + the significant kickbacks these schools are expecting from these agreements.
