I understand that the Big East overall is not nearly as good as the Big Ten, but where would Creighton finish in the Big Ten? Or Marquette or Xavier?

Last year Pablo put both Marquette and Creighton between Michigan and Northwestern.

I would guess somewhere in the 6-10 range, assuming they were the 15th team. I would put Marquette maybe a bit lower in that range because they have to replace a good setter.

I would say 6-8. Creighton had a very good season last year, but could they withstand the rigors of 20 matches against the Big Ten?
The A-10 teams are hard to measure. There is some good coaching over there, but the players are a bit smaller, less physical.

We will have a better idea of that answer after Creighton plays Illinois in Creighton's tourney Sept 20 weekend.

This year, Creighton would finish around 9th or 10th in the Big Ten. They're clearly better than Maryland and Rutgers but not clearly better than anyone else.

They also play NE in Lincoln on Sept. 17th. Yeah, but the only way that tells you anything is if they win. If they get swept, what does it mean? They aren't in the top 2 - 3 teams in the Big Ten, but it doesn't tell you how much below it they are. Lots of B1G teams get swept in Lincoln.

Creighton is a bottom third team in the Big Ten. Hard to say if they are 10 or 12.

What if they lose in 5, after out-pointing Nebraska overall? That would tell you something, I think.

There is a difference between getting up and playing big a couple times a season, but staying charged for an entire season in at least 3:4 sets is something all together different.

This is a great example of how it's always easy to confirm your prejudgment if you discount any counter-evidence as being an outlier.
