CAL POLY played UHawai'i tough tonite,...but, too many home court advantages for the Wahines to overcome.
CAL POLY needed a player like Hannah Mathiesen in their lineup to level the playing court.
Not trying to say POLY would have won,...but, fans would have been biting their nails in the 5th set.
Right now coach Crosson needs to be looking for wins. If, getting a healthy Mathiesen back on the court will produce "w's", then so be it.
Keeping fingers crossed she's ready next week.
GoPOLY!!!

We all wait to hear if Hannah Mathiesen has been cleared to play in the matches this week.
If, Coach Crosson knows today he may announce it during the media hour.

In her 12 sets played this season, Mathiesen was hitting .092.... You seem to have a particular fixation with her resurrecting Cal Poly's season?

Her kill totals for her first three matches as a collegiate are outstanding, maybe unprecedented,…13 K (4 S), 13 K (4 S) & 10 K (5 S). Who else has these kind of stats as a true Fr.? GoPOLY!!!

Since Greisen is also a true freshman, and lots of freshman hitters at other schools are having great seasons, I feel that the rest of us are missing something that you are seeing in this one particular player. All the other true freshmen at Poly have better hitting stats this season than Mathiesen. But I certainly hope she heals up quickly and returns to the lineup.

Dude, like your support but let's get real here. I looked up one player Ali Frantti in her first three games - all 3 set wins 13 kills - hit .500 11 kills - hit .450 7 kills - hit .500 Oh, and her 4th game was 22 kills hitting .405 against Stanford. Then she had 14 kills hitting .605 against UCLA in 3 sets

Since the Pac 12 threads all seem to be going a little gaga over this Marshall girl at Oregon State I looked up her first three games, 12, 21 and 18 kills - and she is a true freshman. So I have no doubt that Mathiesen may be the answer for Cal Poly, but I think that as a true freshman she may be doing better than average but really nothing special.

Some girls are the go to player on their respective team. Hannah Mathiesen was producing the most kills on CAL POLY's team during those first three matches,…before the injury.

# of kills without knowing hitting % is a pretty useless statistic - especially for the hitter, the setter, and the coach

Check that she was producing the second most kills, behind another true freshman, Raeann Greisen.
Nevertheless, her presence back on the court will be welcomed,...I am sure.
And give POLY that extra weapon on offense that has been lacking.
GoPOLY!!!

I love the Poly Canyon Village. I wish I could go back to school and live there.

Poly Canyon used to be just a canyon 30 years ago. The entire campus has changed so much. The housing options sure have improved. I miss all the pasture out by the Aero Hanger. Do they still do tracker pull races?

Just toying with them.
Down 2 sets to none to last place UC Riverside (the most progressive Community College in the state) CAL POLY went on a straight 3 set match winning run.
Ms Mathiesen did not play...but, stood on the sideline with her teammates wearing what looked like practice gear.
Sat. it's UC Davis away.
GoPOLY!!!
