Okay so I'm a junior in high school I've never played volley ball . But I want try this year, I run track so I have some kind of athletic ability . Is there any hope that I could possible get on junior varsity if so what kind of tips and advice do you have? And what should I say to the coach ?

Tell the coach all of this. Also make it clear, with words, attitude and action, that you are willing to work your behind off to learn the game.
If you have athletic ability, a good coach -- depending on the number of players he/she is dealing with -- will want to give you a shot.
(Also, check out the MANY videos available on the internet with volleyball instruction. Start with the USAV site and go on from there.)

I would add that if you can find a club in your area, check their website to see if they have any clinics being offered. Many do, especially for purposes of helping an athlete prepare for high school tryouts, and also prepare for club tryouts for the club season. Go to the clinics as often as you can. Good luck! Volleyball is such a fun team sport.

I think it depends on the size of the school and how competitive their volleyball program is.
My approach would be:
1) Do a lot of quick research into the clubs in your area and get a sense for what is out there training wise and what clinics are available.
2) Pay for 1 session with a private coach to give you an overview of the skills needed and to help you develop expectations and give you a sense of awareness about where you stand skills wise and what it would take to be comparable to your competition
3) Meet with the coach and express your interest and ask him for advice. This is where your prior research will be needed, so you can talk intelligently and come across as serious and not as someone who is doing this on a whim.
4) Work your tail off and take advantage of as many resources to get better as you can, open gyms, clinics, club, peppering with friends, serving down at the park, etc.

All I need to know about you as a person and potential volleyball player is your willingness, as a junior, to play on the JV team. That shows your willingness to prove yourself to your coach and teammates.
Ask for a try out. And good luck to you.

I'll ask the important question, how tall are you?
