Wow, nobody cares? Thought you guys would be excited especially those of you in Nebraska. When was the last time US was host in World Grand Prix? 1996 Hawaii?

Isn't it a bit shocking (but good) that Omaha is one of the few hot beds of volleyball? I hope lots of NCAA players make the effort to go see the finals. I have to admit that it is a bit depressing watching a couple preseason scrimmages AFTER just watching The World Grand Prix.

People are just clamoring for the 2014 season and haven't begun looking ahead to this event. Hopefully the Nebraska faithful leave a few tickets for the rest of us. It'll be great to even have this opportunity to go to mid-America and see a few of these countries' teams in person--instead of watching slow, spotty, or stalled web-streamed matches. Thanks for posting!

This was announced in January I believe so saying nobody cares in August is pretty silly. Your "wow" is about nobody responding to your post, not about no one caring about the event. In fact, I already have my tickets and will be on the 1st row! So take that for caring. Visit ticketmaster to get yours and I'll see you there! PS-not sure USA has ever hosted Grand Prix matches. Certainly 1st time we host final round, which has previously only been held in CHN, JPN, and BRA over the 20-something years of the event.

Does anyone know which sections will be behind the up ref and which are on the side with the down ref? I'm considering going but don't like to sit on the side with the up-ref blocking some of the view.

Century Link center has a diagram up on their website and I think ticketmaster probably does too. I used the telephone to get best service because you cannot pick exact section on website.
Thanks Candlelight for shining some light on things for Edmond. I was waiting 8 months for those tickets to go on sale!

Oh my God, Dec last year? Why so early. They set it up that way in an attempt to make you look foolish when you claimed someone else was lying about this having been discussed months ago.

Well, I don't liven in these forums and I only come here during the international season. Plus, I go by FIVB official announcement, but of course someone inside USA Volleyball may get a tip off earlier.

Good one Mike.
Edmond, no offense brother. Just been a long time and hype is down. As this year's version of the WGP finished, just time for it to get a revisit in the press releases, plus the draw which you posted was just done. But the final round site is always bid and contracted almost 2 years ahead, and with tickets on sale already (you can ask again why so early but I don't know) the site selection has to be done many months prior to get the logistics set up.
Thanks for posting the pools and getting conversation started again though, maybe we see some ticket sales early and help our future case for hosting more FIVB championship events.
You said maybe Hawaii back in '96, which must have been preliminary rounds. I am certain this is 1st time an FIVB world-level finals event will be on US soil so very exciting. Everyone get their tickets and maybe we can get the WL men's finals one day. One day...

By "certain" I guess I certainly forgot about the '84 and '96 Olympic tournaments.... huge mistake by me, don't know how I missed that!
Anyway, I 1st saw the USAV press release in January, a few weeks after word was first leaked. From the PR:
"FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jan. 9, 2014
CONTACT: Bill Kauffman, USA Volleyball Senior Manager of Communications, Phone: 719-228-6800
Omaha to Host 2015 FIVB World Grand Prix Final Round
OMAHA, Neb. (Jan. 9, 2014) - The City of Omaha has been selected to host the Final Round of the 2015 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Grand Prix (WGP), which is the premier annual international women's volleyball tournament run by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB). The Omaha Sports Commission will serve as the local organizing committee with the support of USA Volleyball, the National Governing Body for the sport."

I watched the match between USA and Brazil on ESPN Asia back then, so I remembered it.
