Which players do you think will come out for DS's? Albrecht for the 2nd LS seems obvious. Serving in place of one of the middles seems obvious. Is it possible they will DS for Amber so her focus can be entirely on playing in the front row?

Another Season - 24+ hours to go. I can see quite a few different combination of players put on the floor before the conference season starts. My guess for starters in this match are: S: Pollmiller MB's: Hall, Haggerty - (sub Keil in for either) RS: A. Rolfzen - spot sub by Ostrander during match OH's: K. Rolfzen, Fien - sub Albrecht for Fien in the back row, and sometimes play her all the way around for Fien L: Wong-Orantes DS's: Ethridge, Townsend - sub back row accordingly My guess, but I have been wrong in the past! I think this is exactly what you will see although L2 still up in the air.

I think you will see some platooning and change at the L2 position, three middles playing at different times, and situational use of Larson if killing the ball becomes an issue.

FSU is a way bigger match for Nebraska than Stanford IMO.

Jeff Sheldon tweeted that the set part of the lineup is: OHs: K. Rolfzen/Ostrander, Libero: Wong-Orantes, Setter: Pollmiller (Kelly is redshirting), and Meg Haggety as a MB. Will decide between CeCe and Keil for other MB and Larson/A.Rolfzen as RS.

Just rolled into town and had dinner at Misty's . From what we were told an institution around here . Going to the hay market tomorrow before the game . Interesting that Dorthy thinks the FSU game is bigger than Stanford . Wondering thoughts on it

Is that because they think they should beat fsu and might beat, stanford? Or why do you think that?

FSU would be the match I would feel, "we need to win" Stanford is a higher ranked team, not a match Nebraska will be "expected" to win, and a loss that in no way hurts you at the end of the season. FSU at Nebraska would be an upset, a loss to lower ranked team from a lesser league. Nobody would be saying "what's wrong with Nebraska" if they lose to Stanford. You lose To FSU than you are looking at starting the season 0-2, you beat FSU and you feel like you get to play Stanford with house money.

So I guess the reverse is true for FSU. A loss at Neb doesn't hurt as long as we win at Iowa State on Sunday. First match of year is always the big question . Will be neat to see Nic a former Neb commit playing tomorrow . Lots of questions with new players this year . Looked very athletic in practice and scrimmage last week . Tough place to play first match with a lot of new starters , team chemistry will be key

Well it sounds like from the reports (if they're right} that the coaches feel Kelsey won't be able to get away from her proneness for errors. The starting lineup ?
S: Pollmiller MB's: Haggerty, with Hall or Keil RS: A. Rolfzen - spot sub by Larson during match OH's: K. Rolfzen, Ostrander - sub Albrecht for Ostrander in the back row, and sometimes play her all the way around for Ostrander L: Wong-Orantes DS's: Ethridge, Townsend - sub back row accordingly

Is the setter position really up for grabs? I thought that Pollmiller would for sure set Nebraska this season. I know her connections with her middles last year was questionable but she is proven.
I agree with Dorthy the FSU match could be a huge upset. If Nebraska doesn't play smart and with a sense of urgency and tough they could lose. The first match of the season is tough because teams are getting their feet under them.

Huge RPI bumps and if you steal a win, even greater. I know some folks will disagree with this but 8,000 at home opener can be every bit as tough on the home team, as the visitor.

I agree that Hunter should redshirt if she will not start. It kind of reminds me of a few years ago when NE had a So. and Sr. setter. The So. should had redshirt that year as well.
