Last year Missouri went 35-0 before losing in the tournament.
Can Missouri, or any other team, go undefeated until the tournament begins?

Hey, if FGCU (Florida Gulf Coast Univ) can get by Miami and Ohio St., then they could run the table!!!! But they will be 31-0 (before start of NCAA tourney)

I think it is certainly possible - but look at teams that may not have as brutal an overall schedule as those in the 3 main conferences (Big 10, Big 12, Pac-12). So some candidates may seem a little different from 'usual suspects' top ten teams. BYU comes to mind, San Diego should not be as difficult an opponent as last year, so if BYU can beat Washington (at Provo), an undefeated season seems plausible. Creighton, if they can beat Nebraska, then everything on the schedule makes it seem plausible. Remember Mizzou was UTR, before they ran the reg season table Long Beach is a really odd candidate, but could have their toughest two matches the first two of the season, and the BW teams above them all lost key players, so if they are mid-season form they could surprise Illinois & NC, then they have a schedule that at least is not as daunting as other conferences - same for Hawaii, their pre-season is not nearly as brutal as last year, a lot of unknowns though, but they have pre-season all at home. BYU would be my choice of course, being plausible and probable are too different things it's just hard to believe teams in the Big 10 & Pac-12 won't go unscathed through their conference.

Doesn't BYU have to get past San Diego twice in order to go undefeated? Tough, but more likely than San Diego beating BYU twice, so I'll go along with BYU as having a shot at going undefeated through the regular season.

BYU will have to get by Washington. Will help it will be at Provo, at altitude (UW stumbled at Colorado, last season).

I took that into account. I think Washington will be weaker than expected and BYU tougher. Plus the significant home advantage for BYU.

For the past two years, BYU has lost to Santa Clara on the road. It's pretty unlikely for anyone to go undefeated in the WCC, with lots of teams ready to rear up and bite at least once and awhile.
