Oh, hey. The video finally just loaded -- to a screen that says the broadcaster is currently not streaming.

She's not the biggest hitter in the gym, but she could end up being the best hitter to adjust to the set, which is exactly what you want in an L2. On a good pass the setter SHOULD be going to the middle or the RS, but on a crappy pass the OH is going to get a junk set. We need OH's who can play balls on less than ideal sets. I think Scambray could be that player. Perfect compliment to Vansant. Especially since our setters are inconsistent.

Also, if the setters can't figure out a way to USE Dehoog on the RS, there is not point for her to be on the floor. granted this was just the first match.

All in all a decent showing. The returners looked ready to build from where they finished last year (with a little rust to polish in places), and the two classes of freshmen - redshirt and true - with some definite potential to fill the gaps. Tia and Courney both showed well all the way around at OH, Tia better tonight. The middles had a field day with the small PSU middle blocks that did not get any help from the outsides. Cassie as good at libero as expected.

I liked seeing Tanner make some good sets out of near overpasses that would usually have been a rescue situation. Her connection to the middles seemed good, but with what seemed to be somewhat slower sets. I hope that was just taking advantage of the PSU weakness, because I expect P10 middle blockers would find something to do with the extra time.
