Much better than the early match. Still plenty to work on before BYU.

Much better than the early match. Still plenty to work on before BYU. Agree. I wonder if Cassie is having a little bit of a mental block with switching to libero...If so, she should continue to improve as she embraces more her new role.

We know that she has all the skills, attitude and reactions of a great passer and defender. We saw it last year. The rhythm for libero is different, without the explosive release of front row half the time. It would take some adjustment.

OK the stats sheet is up. www.gohuskies.com//ViewContent.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=30200&CONTENT_ID=966256UW hit .542, with Krista leading the way at 14 kills at .748 . The first set (missed it) must have been a kill o rama, with UW hitting .700 and BSU hitting .577. Not the sheet I was expecting. May be some PBs in there - Nelson surpassed her morning number at .615.

UW must have been overwhelmed this weekend by the bright lights of Boise.

A few things... There has to be some consideration given to the fact that there are quite a few new faces on the court this season that the returners haven't played with. There are things that they are all going to have to learn about each other and a trust that has to be developed that can only be found after being on the court during game situations like these. It bodes well for them that they struggled this morning and then came back out refocused and ready to work against Boise. I'm a faithful Husky fan and regardless of a rough preseason match, I have high hopes for this squad and am not going to put too much energy into nail biting and hypothesizing about the entire 2014-2015 season based on the first 3 matches this squad has played together Go DAWGS!

When was the last time she played left-back on defense? She was at middle-back last year.

If you clink on the live-video links for the weekend matches at Boise State, the webcast are archived and you can re-watch (or watch the first time). Not sure how long they'll be available. Wish other schools would all do this.
