LMU 12-9
I like their freshman Libero. Litara Keil is a great athlete too.

Is Sponcil hitting? I thought she was being brought in to set.

LMU takes set 1 LMU up 8-6 in set 2.. UCLA not looking good UCLA really needed the Greek to be a game-changing point scorer. It looks like she isn't at that level, though a solid setter would help.

LMU Sweeps! Good to see them win a big game after losing so many close ones last season.

When will Moenoa be back? Moenoa playing part time this season due to injury is problematic. UCLA needs a healthy, elite setter who can play the entire season.
Looking at the stats Frager only played in one set and didn’t get a kill or a block. Is she injured or not a starter? I thought Frager would be a key player this year.
Thank goodness for Lowe. Lowe had 24 kills. Without her the Bruins would be in trouble.
The Greek player Strantzali looks like a possibility although she had a .000 hitting percentage.
Not a single minute of play from Klineman or Lawless. I don’t get that unless they are injured. Buechler is good but as a freshman she is not the player UCLA needs to finish in the top five of the Pac-12.
UCLA has a tough weekend coming up. At the moment they are not the best team to represent the Pac-12 in an inter-conference tournament. Past reputation is not enough. It should be about the product a program is currently putting on the court.
I still question Sealy’s decision to add someone with no real coaching experience to the coaching staff and give her the title of recruiting coordinator. I hope it works out and they bring in some big time players for the future.

Nightingale has not been great this season and thus, Frager has been subbed in. Lowe is the only one getting kills. I wonder if this is due to the setter or not. I can't wait for Moenoa to come back to see if that makes a difference.

I can't wait for Moenoa to come back to see if that makes a difference. Strantzali actually hit very well the first two matches of this tourney, but against LMU she didn't hit very poorly...it didn't help that the sets to her were not the best either. Klineman played in one set in the first match of this tournament (against Binghamton?) and had 3 attempts, all of which were hitting errors (i think she got blocked on all). It also doesn't help that she doesn't serve receive or play defense very well which is why Buechler and Strantzali will get the start over her. Lawless is still recovering from her injury from last season and probably isn't in the top shape yet, but I do think/hope that she can get back into it soon and help out Buechler/Strantzali whenever one of them struggle.

Without a healthy Moenoa and Lawless this team will struggle. Lawless will a little load off Lowe can be an H1 while getting DS'ed. Moenoa would just make the entire offense smoother. Until that happens, UCLA will not do well.
