Neither does my Comcast...my hatred surfaces again. Here in TN, Comcast does have PAC12 but you have to upgrade to sport package My Sports Package does not include it...I pay for it (oddly, in Northern VA, the B1G Network is still part of the paid package even after Maryland joined the league..boo!). It does include Outside Television, "the only network dedicated to the active outside lifestyle with original programming featuring people, places and adventures that define the active lifestyle."

What kind of crowd does Stanford typically get this early? Classes don't start for a few more weeks, right? Not sure the "environment" will be a factor in terms of location (not saying that's what you meant, dorothy), but definitely in terms of nerves/opponent. Stanford also has to travel back today, so they will also be adjusting (albeit earlier and one less timezone) to travel. I meant heavyweight match environment.

I think Russ will study the Husker loss and have some stragity mapped out for Stanford! Stanford wins in 5! GO HUSKERS "GO HUSKERS"?! But they aren't playing in this match! You have to pick a side!!! I did; I picked Stanford over PSU in 5! GO HUSKERS

I'm going to be my usual optimistic self and say PSU 3-2. Although having just watched Nebraska/Stanford, all I can say is WOW.
I get the PAC-12 Network here in PA. Yippee!

This will be interesting for both teams. Stanford has the chance to prove they're the best team in nation like most believe. For Penn state, who's a young team, it's a great measuring stick. Great early match for both teams. Will Haleigh Washington play. I know she number 1 recruit but that's def throwing the rookie straight in the fire for first match. Hope she plays. Thoughts ? Should be a great match. PSU has more firepower, Stanford probably more complete (at this point) Micha's serve is the wild-card. How do you think that PSU has more firepower than Stanford? Purely hitting I believe they have three of the best hitters in the nation in Ajanaku, Burgess and Howard.

Don't change your habit, PSU always disappointed you the last few years. Um... I don't follow. I've been worried a lot over the years, but I am not sure how "disappointed" I've been, because that implies I disapproved of how they *did* (past tense). And I am in no way disappointed with 5 of the last 7 national titles. I'm going to be my usual optimistic self and say PSU 3-2. Although having just watched Nebraska/Stanford, all I can say is WOW. I get the PAC-12 Network here in PA. Yippee! I discovered yesterday that I get the Pac-12 Network down here in North Carolina. And I don't think it was even from the Sports Tier I had to purchase a few weeks ago to make sure I had BTN in time for the season. I was flipping through college football games and stumbled across the Pac-12 Network. More volleyball this season! Score! I've heard a lot of bad stuff about Time Warner over the years, but aside from some Internet issues and cable box oddities, I have been pleased with the channel lineup. It's not DirecTV, but it's pretty close in terms of sports. I've got SEC Network, Pac-12 Network, all variations of ESPN, BTN, NFL Network and NFL Red Zone, and a bunch of other stuff I'll never watch all for a fairly decent price compared to what I've paid in other places.

Purely hitting I believe they have three of the best hitters in the nation in Ajanaku, Burgess and Howard. I think they have more offensive firepower player for player. Its my opinion they have more players that can hurt you offensively than Stanford. I think Stanford has great firepower, and agree with you on Inky, Howard and Burgess.

If you keep getting disappointed/negatively, then that means Penn State keeps winning games and titles.

Stanford in 3 or 4. I don't see Penn State having an answer for Inky and Stanford's pin trio of Boukather/Burgess/Howard is phenomenal. I also think Bugg is a better distributor than Hancock. By the end of the season I think Penn State could be better, but Stanford wins this battle.

Direct TV does not have PAC12 network, any other way to watch this match? TIA Neither does my Comcast...my hatred surfaces again. Look for a free stream of the Pac-12 network on the internet. I'll come back the day of the match to post a link. It's what I've relied on since DirecTV doesn't have P12N. The stream I have is pretty good.

Burgess and Howard are not two of the best attackers in the nation. Their worth lie in their ability to control and manage the ball, consistency, and composure. Agreed, they are exceptional players. I gave Stanford the edge in that area for those reasons, and gave PSU the advantage that I do believe they hold, which is more dangerous arms.
