Seems that a few teams are putting much of their 2016 recruiting stock in Fitzmorris - who still remains open to nearly a dozen schools. If for example, Nebraska does not get Fitzmorris, who do they fall back on?

They play Foecke as a middle instead of a pin hitter.

Well, is it just Nebraska and Stanford waiting for Fitzmorris to make up her mind? She has other offers, no? What other middles are out there uncommitted for 2016 to fill the holes left when she makes her decision?

Nebraska recently got a commitment from 2016 MB Lauren Stivrins from AZ. She is said to be one of the best MB in the 2016 class.

Seems that a few teams are putting much of their 2016 recruiting stock in Fitzmorris - who still remains open to nearly a dozen schools. If for example, Nebraska does not get Fitzmorris, who do they fall back on? They already have Stivrins. They'll also be grooming Reeves for the middle. Nebraska wants Fitzmorris to cap their '16 class, adding her to the middle with Stivrins would get Nebraska back to being nationally dominant in the middle like they used to be. They play Foecke as a middle instead of a pin hitter. There are many options. Nebraska will try Foecke across the front row and see which combination makes the most sense for the team. She was recruited as an OH, but she may end up on the right side which would finally allow Amber to move back to the left. She's also an option at middle if Nebraska can't shore up that spot. Nebraska recently got a commitment from 2016 MB Lauren Stivrins from AZ. She is said to be one of the best MB in the 2016 class. Stivrins has almost unlimited upside. It's rare to find her height (6'4") and length (6'6" wingspan) with her quick feet and vertical. She's not done growing either.

She is much better in the middle anyway. Foecke? No, she isn't. She's the most terminal hitter in the 2015 class. Unless Nebraska has no other option, they want her on one of the pins. They need a sideout machine and Foecke is that type of offensive talent.

I've seen her play countless times in the last 5 years. We'll have to agree to disagree on this. Have you seen her play both pins in the last year during club? Putting her at middle limits her swings which is not a good idea.

Same thing happened with Rachael Adams a few years back. Everybody who waited for her found a way to move on. Could be a transfer, or an international, they could hold the scholarship a year (which you'll see more now with 4 year offers) or just go to the next person on the list.

Very good point about Foecke; She is a hitting machine. Just what they need at OH. But Cook can't wait forever for FitzMorris. And once players wait into their Junior year when heavily recruited, and Stanford is in the mix, aren't they just waiting for Stanford admissions at this point?

Nebraska disagrees and team USA agrees. Team USA doesn't project or develop players. They assign position based on inertia. Foecke has spent the most time at middle, therefore to Team USA, she's a middle. That doesn't mean anything with regard to her positional potential.

I'm not saying she isn't a great player. I simply think her fit is best in the middle. Nebraska disagrees and team USA agrees. Was it so much that team USA agreed; or that they had a dinged-up FitzMorris, something about her hand, and ample options at OH.

Actually Cook will wait on Fitzmorris until she decides. Nebraska has one scholarship left open for 2016 IF they want to use it. As it stands, they're treating that class as though it's pretty much finished. While they could pick up another player if Fitzmorris opts to attend another school, they may just shut it down as well. They've been recruiting '17 and '18 players more heavily over the summer.
