So what does everyone think about the Wyoming job? Is it a good place to work? Can you build a winning team there? Who do you think is/could be in the running?

Don't teams have to take a long and winding bus ride to get to the Wyoming campus? Ixnay to that...

Wyoming is a tough, tough job. You will never see a top level coaching candidate go there, nor will you see a top assistant going there. There is support for the program from the administration, but as has been mentioned the location of the campus hampers everything you'd want to do. You might be able to get by in stringing a few good seasons together, but never great. Recruiting is neigh unto impossible, the facilities aren't the greatest and who would want to voluntarily live in Laramie?
Good for Barnes for getting out while he could. The Mountain West Conference is underrated as a volleyball conference and with Colorado State, Utah, BYU and San Diego State occupying the top spots from year-to-year all the other schools are fighting to see who finishes at the top of the bottom of the conference. UNLV, with the right coach, has the facilities, environment and support to get things done, but Wyoming is stuck at the bottom with Air Force and New Mexico and will be every year, regardless of what kind of coach they have.

Do they have promiscuous wild horses in Wyoming? Or am I thinking of Montana?

Do they have promiscuous wild horses in Wyoming? Or am I thinking of Montana? Far it be it from me to get all preachy about a man and his pleasures, but I really don't think your sexual proclivities are a suitable topic for this board. Having said that, why must they be promiscuous? Try a little hay, some oats, maybe a carrot. Who knows where it might lead?

Never mind. I'm thinking of dolphins. They're very very promiscuous.

Whoa...I was just thinking of Wyoming just before bobinmd revived this old thread. I just noticed Josh Taylor, former Missouri head coach, is an assistant there now. I've driven by Laramie, WY to put gas in my vehicles along I-80 but I've never been to the University of Wyoming campus. I have, however, been to Cheyenne, WY and walked around the town. Surprisingly nice. But windy as heck.

Love 20 yr old threads. Never been to Laramie but have been to Cheyenne. While there, attended the World's Largest Rodeo with my family. Stayed for the concert that night. Headliner was Trace Adkins and his opening act was a relatively new singer named Faith Hill.

I live in Fort Collins so am a CSU fan but we trek to Laramie frequently to ski in the winter. I myself would not want to be a student there in the winter. Or anytime really. It’s kind of depressing.

Fun fact...the current head coach, Kaylee Koetter Prigge, is the daughter of former Tampa Bay Bucs head coach, Dirk Koetter.
