Enjoyed your thoughts. Didn't make it to Pauley Pavilion last year, but did go to Loyola Chicago this year. Gentile Arena is a fabulous place for volleyball.

I was a little surprised to see Iran beat Italy, but honestly, I think the top four in that pool could finish in almost any order, and if anyone gets careless, the Belgians could take their place. 'Group of Death' to be sure.

Will you be doing analyses for all pools, or just the U.S. one?

Will you be doing analyses for all pools, or just the U.S. one? Probably just Pool D. Between a 50 hour a week job and grad school it is hard to keep up on all of them.

'Group of Death' to be sure. Amen to that! About USA vs PRico, yes Lotman played very well, but as you stated in your blogue it was a very weak team, if he could mantain this performance against France, maybe i'll change my opinion about him. Iran cannot be a surprise for anyone, they are now in top 6, Why Belgium is having this performance? See stats, Reception and Digging have their 2 OH in top 5, actually at this point, they have been showing a good side out. On the contrary, USA (except Shoji) have their OH's at the bottom. So, against France, a decisive match, i hope USA can show good passing, otherwise one can forecast serious problems, France have several guys launching bombs. Another 3 factors that have been impacting on USA performance is serving (except Holt), Mr Lee (he made the difference in WL) and Anderson (some lack of connection with Micah, but also here and there lack of energy/explosion as he is capable of).
