Dear MEAC, Please drop volleyball, or just confine your play to conference play only.
On the list, the surprises are Notre Dame as losers and Maryland as winners.

Dear MEAC, Please drop volleyball, or just confine your play to conference play only. Can we go ahead and add football to that list as well? Just imagine the $$ saved on salaries, equipment, travel, and Ryder gear!! Pour those funds into becoming strictly a marching band and basketball conference. That's where the real entertainment is anyway. But on a side note, if I'm FAMU vball, I'm putting that set against the Badgers in my W column ;-).

I didn't look at their schedule, have they been playing the MEAC?...And speaking of conferences beginning with M, what's up with the MAAC? Sheesh. At least Canisius and St. Pete will get to play each other, and St Peter (the actual saint) will be advising both.

Hampton is pretty good though. Much better than any team the SWAC, MAAC, Am-East Have to offer. Already have wins over Bradley, DePaul, and George Washington. Not too shabby.

Just looked at Maryland's schedule. Their first home game is October 3! Indiana. Might even be a competitive Big Ten matchup.

That's true, but when 60-70% of the crowd thins out immediately aftet half-time you gotta assume they're not there for the game.
Yes Hampton vball definitely deserves recognition for their 2013 season & their 2014 performance thus far. Its a shame they won't have better in-conference competition to prepare them for the dreaded 1 seed they'll face in the tourney.

Callihan left two seasons ago and Georgia Southern still won the Southern Conference's regular season and tournament titles last year. They've had a tough preseason schedule this year; losses to Florida, Oklahoma, Pitt, and Colorado (all on the road). And they still have trips to Kentucky and North Carolina ahead.

What explains Tulane's huge drop off? They only lost 4 games last year and are already 0-6 this year. I was at both games vs UND, and they didn't even look competitive...

Georgia Southern has played a brutal schedule so far. I think they will be okay this year , but they will miss the recruiting and development of Callihan. He did a great job of recruiting players that were not big enough for top tier programs, and developing them in his system. I am not familiar with Wyoming yet this year, but I am sure Callihan's coaching has something to do with the improvement.
