Does anyone know what the heck is going on at Tulane?
They were 28-4 and just barely missed the NCAA tournament last year, just out of the RPI range with no big victories..
This year they are 1-7! Their only win comes against Southeastern Louisiana, and they have lost to Howard, were swept TWICE by North Dakota and swept by South Dakota... I understand the losses to UTSA, Texas A&M, and Iowa because those are solid teams.. but they have been swept five of seven losses..

It looks to me like last year they played an easier schedule in the early part of the season for sure. However, they lost to North Dakota and UTSA last year, too.
North Dakota and South Dakota are both only 20 spots behind Iowa according to Pablo, so if Iowa's an understandable loss then I think these all really are. (Pablo puts Tulane about 42 spots behind the Dakota teams.)
Last year at this point, Tulane had played Mississippi Valley State, Youngstown State, Rider, Southeastern Louisiana, etc - a weaker schedule.
Ignoring the terrible loss to Howard, I am thinking Tulane will pick it up and be on par with how good they were last year (though they do have a very inexperienced setter, so maybe settling in still) but they had a tougher stretch of schedule and a bad loss all in a row... Hopefully it's nothing more than that!

Lets not forget Howard is a rising HBCU, they beat George Mason for the second year in a row and took American to 4 and won the Tulane invitational beating FAU, Tulane and SE La

Their visit to the Univ of Arizona next weekend could be just what they need. However, if for some reason Tulane can't use their height advantage over an extremely small team, that's playing in Tucson next weekend, the GW could be in for a long season.

Just updating this... Tulane is 5-20
How many teams have gone from such a good winning % the year before to a miserable winning % the next year? Tulane hasn't even been competitive in most matches. Haven't been able to watch more than bits and pieces from Tulane, and only started paying attention to their program since they were on the bubble last year. They returned their teams leading scorer, a freshman; so I thought they'd be back. But 28-4 to 5-20 is just insane.
