Smooth sailing for the Ducks so far. 25-17, 25-19. Frankie SHebby and Serena Warner with a zillion kills each. Very comfortable match for the Ducks, despite their service errors and Michigan's lefts getting quite a few tools.
Team has had trouble "relaxing" after won sets/intermission -- hoping we can get a sweep in tonight.

Like clockwork, Oregon relaxes at start of Set 3. 7-4 Michigan, Michigan scoring includes 3 nets and an unhittable set. Let's clean it up. Don't play 4!

21-19 Oregon after a Scott ace. Michigan is keeping it close. Our block should be doing a MUCH better job on Davis and Knop, who have 11 and 6 kills.
Low sets = hitting errors. 23-22 Michigan. Egads!

27-25 Brenner stuffs Cole slide for the match. Whew - first sweep since Week 1! Tons of errors down the stretch - our hitting % dropped to .346 from .450+ the whole match - a team that is playing better would have taken advantage. We also struggled with Michigan's undersized/crafty outsides - have done much better against big bangers.
I bet Shebby repeats as FOW. 4.0 kps, .71 bps, hitting .388 over matches against two Big Ten teams. Pretty much everyone played well - Warner and Bettendorf also stood out.

I know it's not necessarily like-vs.-like teams, but what's the pac12-big10 head to head record so far this season? and have all the matches been on the west coast?

Trying to decide if Shebby is having a better freshman start than Brenner did. Brenner did end up playing well and beating Penn St her first year.

Not to make excuses, but everyone realizes that Michigan is playing without their senior HM AA setter, Dannemiller, right? I mean, it was going to be a rebuilding year in the first place.
Anyone know her prognosis?

PAC-12 is 9-4 against the B1G: Northwestern 3-2 Colorado Ohio State 0-3 Oregon And that's even before Maryland plays a Pac-12 team.

Trying to decide if Shebby is having a better freshman start than Brenner did. Brenner did end up playing well and beating Penn St her first year. The defining match of Brenner's freshman season was Stanford at Maples. Biggest win of the season (I don't think we'd ever won there before) and she had 30+ kills hitting over .500.
