Interesting Tuaniga is going to LBSU Considering Stallings is there and was redshirted this year. Stallings is also a national team level player who is 3 or so inches taller then Tuaniga.

It's not like these kids have tons of choices...How many top level programs are in his home state? <10 He may redshirt and only play as a senior, he may win the job over an older player, he may never play (happens to tons of great players at all the top schools)

I guess why do you need to stay in your home state. He has the potential to be one of the top setters. Why not go to a program that he is guaranteed a starting position right from the beginning. While I am not part f his family I am familiar with situations such as this and if they want to play why not go to a place that gives you the shot right away or at least within a year. With his talent I am sure he could get some sort of scholarship with another school. While I am not aware if Stallings still has his ride I do know that he was given a scholarship covering a good portion of his attendance with the understanding that he would be the starter this year and for the next many years.

So you would leave SoCal to go to where? Ohio State? Penn State? Loyola? Maybe they didn't offer him or the offer was small. Would big offers from Lindenwood and St. Francis draw him away from the beach and family? I would certainly never be surprised by a SoCal kid staying in the MPSF even if he has to wait to get PT.

There are many other California schools he could choose from. You just named all the schools farther away. And he commited so early that some schools probably didnt even get the time to make him an offer or get him out on an official visit.

Same reason TJ chose LBSU. I said it last year, I'm expecting LBSU to take National Championships in the 2016 season.

With today's college expenses, wouldn't you rather go to a college that will give you playing time while keeping your student loans down low! Top college players should consider the Midwest when looking at the overall picture.

The Midwest State Schools are pretty expensive considering the out of state tuition rates. Loyola and Lewis are private. California state schools are a bargain in comparison, oh, and your family can watch you play.
LB lists tuition + room/board at $22K for in state students.

One of the things the schools can do is establish the tuition at an instate level for athletes.
