Does anyone know her status? Is she injured, how bad?

She had a minor, but emergency, surgery in Louisville that will probably keep her out 6 weeks...guessing. Hopefully she will be back sooner, as she is a big part of the Sun Devils team.

"As they were looking to admit her, her appendix ruptured," Watson said. "We were very, very fortunate that we got her in and were able to take care of it. It could have been an absolute disaster if we got on the plane (Sunday) and her appendix burst in mid-flight. We're waiting to get her in front of our docs and see what transpires. Winning and losing is irrelevant when it comes to the well being of one of your athletes." www.azcentral.com/story/sports/college/asu/2014/09/17/asu-volleyball-pac12-whitney-follette/15786773/

Didn't know the whole story about her condition. One thing about being an athlete is that your body is in good condition to help recovery.

my boss had her appendix rupture at just about the same age - similar situation - had been ignoring the pain and it ruptured after she decided to go to the hospital. She was in the hospital for a good bit longer than if they had caught it pre-rupture. Unfortunate for Whitney that they couldn't catch it in time for that, but like the coach said - thank goodness they were at the hospital and not mid-flight!
