$356.20 on StubHub. Move up to Row 6 and it's $294.05. That's really incredible and a testament to a) the Husker fan base and b) having great volleyball programs play each other with a history of memorable matches. It won't be as much fun, but I'm glad my tickets to watch Nebraska at Maryland will cost $5!

I hope this is true. When Southern Cal played Minnesota for a chance to play for the National Championship in 2004 at the Long Beach Arena you could show at game time and get a ticket. Just shows the sport is growing.

It shows that Neb sold 1000 standing room tickets for their first match this year. Switch venues around and all you need to do is get there when the doors open.

If nebraska cost that much, how in world are they still in the black. Genuinely curious, because like hawaii, I would think they wouldn't be in the black

These prices are from the secondary market and represent a fairly large premium over the $15 face value of most tickets. Even so, 8,000 tickets sold at $15 per ticket equals gross revenue somewhere in the neighborhood of $120,000 per home match. Recent media reports indicated that last season (the first in the Devaney Center), revenue from regular ticket sales exceeded program expenses by roughly $1.7 million. This did not include other revenue such as luxury box sales, premium ticket sales, etc., so it's hard to say what the overall profit would have been.

Agree, although I don't have the exact numbers, but I believe NE is the top revenue producing volleyball program in the country. They have been in the black since the move from the Coliseum to the Devaney beginning last season. With current revenues of at least 1.7 mil('base' ticket sales) plus. And with 'total' volleyball program expenses of somewhere around 1.3 mil.
* Not to shabby for a state with a population of 1.8 mil.

Well, damn. I paid $5 to catch Penn State v. Stanford and UCLA v. Illinois.
Granted it's Stubhub, and the price should go down closer to the match date, but really? $355 for College Volleyball? If a team gets swept, that's ~$116 per set.
For $30 more, you can get a Category A ticket to the Women's Final in Rio.

At last check, The Wahine program brought in $1.18 million over their expenses.

Or, you can watch Penn State at Wisconsin from the front row on the end line for 5 bucks, provided you get there when the doors open.
