Isn't this weeks Pablo still 25% of last season's results? Purdue is hurting but, Saint Louis is putting together a nice season with wins over Missoui and Purdue, they lost 2-3 to UNI and also lost early in the year to Alabama. Good news for the Gopher's if Purdue is added to the list of conference teams not looking so hot. It may just go PSU/Wisky, Neb/Ill (maybe) and then the rest of the field. Northwestern it may turn out has the most say on who finishes where.

Anyone watching the live video for the Toledo match? Just wondering how things are looking. I am out in the sticks right now with internet that is not conducive to live video streaming.

Gophers up 2-0. -14, -18. Connection still not there with Hannah but Paige is playing very well.

Hannah really executing well on the slide tonight and she's looking better with each hit from the middle. Wilhite, Handley, and Goehner have been nothing short of great tonight.

Caluori avoids getting roofed with an SPECTACULAR kick save right at the net that somehow made it over. Gophers win the point, and Caluori ends up finishing off the match with an ace.

That is awesome -- some Brie Orr sh*# right there. Better. She was blocked and the ball was stuffed with force and just as a split second act of desperation kicked her foot up around the [imaginary] 6-foot line and it popped straight up in the air and on to the other side of the net! Btw, Paige Tapp had 12 kills, no errors, in 14 attempts today! She hit like .850 combined in two matches. Wow!

Duquesne, Toledo, and one of the satellite Indiana universities. Yeah, that will get the Gophers ready and prepared for the Big 10 schedule, or at least the Maryland-Rutgers part of it. Final 2013 Pablo rankings of Minn's pre-conference opponents: 126, 36, 67, 191, 259, 78, 82, 36, 104, 130, 121. Ave: 112. Seriously, has Minn. ever had such a lackluster set of pre-conference foes? What's the point of scheduling like this? Just to ensure a .500 or better record? Might as well stay home, have the starters play the "B" team, and save on the expense. I suppose that with a lineup that features 3 players that saw significant playing time last year, a sophomore transfer setter, a middle who rarely saw the court, and 2 freshmen in the back row, MN should have scheduled Texas, Florida, Stanford, and USC during non conference so that they could enter the Bug Ten season below. 500 and had the confidence of the younger players crushed. Yep, that sounds like a better plan.

Yep, that sounds like a better plan. I've never really understood how much control teams have over their schedule -- and how far in advance it is put together. But, obviously, it takes two teams to make a match. So even if Minnesota *wants* to play certain teams, there's no guarantee they can. As for today, I like the fact they were only aced twice in the 6 games. That's a good trend no matter the opposition.
