Just Russia in this group might face USA. The fight is all about who is going to be 1ST.

According to Brazilian Players, they only worry about Russia, USA and Turkey to reach gold.

US is my wish of course (although I have to admit, realistically, that is a stretch), but I wouldn't mind if is some other team as well (i.e. Turkey, Italy, China, Japan etc).

Russia is going with the big guns: Gamova, Kosheleva, and Goncharova (Obmochaeva) are all starting. Who needs passing when you have these three...
Thailand with 3 aces midway through set 1...but Russia has the lead

Russia actually passed pretty well, considering the lineup they were putting out there. Of course, that was against Thailand's B-team, but still, good job by them. They will be a tough team to face for sure.

I think Universal Sports is broadcasting - or at least webcasting -- the U.S. games

Why did Thailand not start their A-team? They sent their A team to the Asian Games

And we have our first upsets: Dominican Republic takes down Germany in 5 and the big shocker: Azerbaijan defeats Japan in 5
