Well yes, realistically I know this team is not going to win a NC. However I don't think they should be going 5 sets at home against a depleted Ohio State team. If you're fine with mediocrity, good for you. I'm sure you'll be much happier than I.

No one's making you out to be a bad "guy." Also, why did u put "guy" in quotes? Is that a dig of some sort?

No one's making you out to be a bad "guy." I do think, given the circumstances (the youth of the team, the talent on the team, and, most importantly, the existence of Penn State), that is not a reasonable expectation. That's basically my point, anyhow. You're going to miss out on the potential to enjoy this team if you expect them to be something they are not. I can understand being disappointed big-picture wise. I am, too. But it's a little like wishing your Springer Spaniel was a Great Dane -- and being upset that it is not. I don't see the point. You (we) have what we have. This is going to be a fun team and one worth rooting for. That's my opinion anyhow. What's wrong with Springer Spaniels

If you're referring specifically to the OSU match, then we're right back where we started: This team is not going to be great every match it plays. That's what makes it #15-30. This happens all the time on here, by the way. People seem to think there is no opponent involved. ("Guy" because I thought you were a woman. Maybe I have you confused with someone else. With all sincerity, I am not "digging" at you in any way. I am simply trying to make my case here. I fully understand where you are coming from. I just don't think it's worth our time to get worked up about the Gophers not being PSU. Not this season anyhow.)

It was a bad analogy. I gave up. Should have dragged Westminster into it, but then I was comparing volleyball players to dogs. It was a lose-lose discussion.
By the way, Boston College beat Louisville last night. Chew on that one for a while (pardon the pun).
