I've added in a few more over the last couple weeks. Huge thanks to NebraskaVBfan93 for sending me the 1996 Nebraska-Penn State match, which can be viewed here: Long time lurker, but have to express thanks for these. This match was incredible. I've seen some outstanding college football, vball, MLB, etc. in my life, and this match remains one of the top 10, maybe top 5 sporting events I've ever attended. So loud at the Coliseum during that feverish rally in set 5.

Wanted to bump this, if you want to watch some old college volleyball matches there are some really really good ones on here.
Lots of good Stanford, Penn State, Hawaii, Florida, Long Beach State, USC, Nebraska videos from the 90s and early 2000s.
Of course my favorites: 2002 NCAA Championship USC vs. stanford 2002 NCAA semifinals USC vs. Florida 2003 Semifinals Minnesota vs. USC 2000 Region Final USC vs. Penn Sate
There's also a couple USC/UCLA matches from '02 and '03.
And it looks like much more to come, great channel thanks for the uploads

--- Enter: "1989 Toni Nishida volleyball" and pull up a total of 12 mix-matched shorts of the two successive 3-0 sweeps back when #1 was No.1. ;-) Apparently someone really liked Toni back in the day and to have to sort them all out myself, for you 'classics', is too time consuming. I will say that [minus Long/Kalulu] had 1988 top 5 hs recruit, the conference BW FOY, 1988 Regionals favorite, aunt/mother to a couple of Samoan SD all-stars, Carolyn makes this 1989 team arguably one of the best in ALL of NCAA history. Outside of the sports teams and military, meuli's aren't as plentiful island-wide; for those in need, a return trip to a mainland home was a must. 6 ft'ers, ball control like NONE other, power where it is to be placed, humility to keep learning. Five AAs (with Taeatafa) and a diggin' Robins (Hi. 2x HS POY). shucks.

I am just finishing up capturing rest of matches from my DVR(2010) and another DVR that was loaned to me had 2011 and 2012 matches on them and will soon be uploading more videos on my YT channel(SFCPLDC). Currently I have some matches from 2006-2009(Penn State mostly) on YT and will be uploading 2010(25 matches),2011 and 2012(couple matches from each of those years). Thanks to another VB fan, I have Micha's very first match she started in against USC at Rec Hall! Look for the first of these matches to show up on YT starting Friday or Sat. Some are in HD but most are in SD. The 2010 Semi-Finals/Finals with PSU vs Texas and California are both in HD.

That match was such a weird start to arguably the best season USC has had since they won the title. USC had a huge late lead in set 4, something like 17-9, about to close out the match. They blow it and lose in 5 at Penn State. I couldn't believe it. Then they get SWEPT by UCF. Then, they dominated everyone except national champion UCLA and Stanford (and Illinois). Early season matches mean so little sometimes.

Many people outside of Penn State became instant fans of her that day! She had 7 Kills(0 errors) and 6 Aces in that match! As for blowing it in the fourth set, I wouldn't exactly call hitting .300 that set blowing it. More like Penn State women caught fire that set. Between the time USC was up 15-7 til the score hit 20-20, USC had Zero unforced hitting errors to include Zero serving errors. The only service error by USC from 15-7 on was at 22-21. Penn State had 5 blocks during that run with only 1 hitting error the entire set.

Wasnt taking anything away, was using "blowing it" is an expression for anyone with a late lead who loses it. It was a fun match. Minnesota blew a 2-0 lead and lost to USC in 5 the day before. Things happen!
Hancock had a fantastic career, gotta love freshmen who make an impact from day one. True competitors

I remember watching the game and giving up after the second set. I happened to check back in what was late in the fourth set--my DVR had ceased recording because in had gone over the set recording time. Luckily, I got most of the match on replay--although the second set is truncated. Amazing game for PSU fans.

at some point they ALL become classics.
(AIAW) USC, 1980 ; LBSU, 1998; PSU, 2008 all went undefeated.
it's 1/4 a century, now, but wonder *between* about 1988 and 1989--UH Rainbow Wahine. It is spring training this week. the national team back then would have had a difficult time with Teee, Karrie, Cheri, Carolyn, Mary, Malin.

Also, I wouldn't say you dominated Pepperdine either

The Honolulu trip was anything but dominating, with the exception of Alex playing the best of her career. That hawaii match was a shame it happened so early. #1 vs. #3 in the Sweet 16 thats a joke! Not even a region final. The Pac-12 Champs get a 7 seed, ridiculous. That was a really good Hawaii team, the best I think they've had in awhile. Pepperdine, also their best team in awhile, was good but didn't outplay USC like Hawaii did. USC's set wins against Hawaii were by 2,2 and 3 points. Very lucky to escape alive.

Oh my apologies, But I 100 percent agree. The fact that Hawaii and USC were seeded as low as they were was a crime. Even the coaches thought so, as evident as them voting for hawaii 5th at the end of the year, despite losing in the regional semis. That game should of been AT LEAST a regional final, if not a final four. Those two teams both had the potential to take it all. I still have NO IDEA how Iowa state managed to get a four seed. That team was good, but not 4 seed good. The USC vs Hawaii match was one for the books. One of my favorite matches to date. Croson absolutely took over for the wahine and carried that team on her back. 25 kills and 23 digs. Jupiter was other worldly, and she had I believe 8 kills in the final set. It was the only time I've seen hagglund in person and I was blown away. She made digs I didn't think were possible. I was so bummed out we lost, but I was also happy we lost to a VERY VERY talented USC team. But from the beginning that regional was way too tough. Nebraska lost in the second round but that was still a VERY good team. They just choked. I was also happy that hawaii only loses in the season were to UCLA and USC. Both teams in the final four and one of them were eventual national champs. IMO, that team was just as good, if not better than the 2009 squad. With the only weakness being the libero IMO.

Just uploaded 6 matches from 2010 on my YT channel(sfcpldc) starting with a Penn State vs North Carolina pre-season match and 3 of the 4 BIG 4 Nike matches and will be uploading daily for the next couple of weeks(2010). I especially like what Mary Wise said in her interview before they played Penn State. Quality is best I could get for these matches. Quality wise, some good and some not great but still watchable.
For you Minnesota, Illinois and Purdue fans will be uploading those matches from 2010 also.

Anyone has a VHS recording of Hawaii and Nebraska in the Tournament of 2001 and 2002?
