Okay I am afraid to throw this out there because I don’t want to seem like a hater. Can someone explain Amy to me I have watched all of the horns games this season with the exception of one. She has done an okay job of figuring out ways to get the ball down, in out of system plays she makes smart choices. I will give her props for being an okay pin hitter. I would like to see her hitting percentage go up but I think that is just being a spoiled Texas fan that expects .3% for all our outside hitters even on horrible sets. However, what I don’t get is why she gets the start when her floor defense isn’t really great. Her passing on serve receive is her strongest element and that falls off at times. It seems like she is always laying out for a ball that has already hit the floor and or passing it 15 feet off the net when she gets a dig that was hit at her. The few times I saw pillar in this roll the digs seemed better and I feel like Tiffany as well could pick it up if she was given a chance. What am I missing? Texas needs Amy to hit but more importantly she need to dig the ball and pass the ball so we can run all the options is she really our best choice for OH2? Her block is a wash to me it is like having a setter in the front row we should be able to dig around her because we know most of the attempts will come to her when she is up front.
I am sure the staff has their reasons but maybe someone with a higher VB IQ could explain what I am missing.

Pilar lost it and Baker did not win it.
