It did not take long and it appears Ed Allen has done it again. At 14-2, 1st place in the SEC, Alabama sits about as pretty as thy have in some time. I know it's early, but heading into a week with 13th ranked, UK and a struggling Tennessee team, they could be in a position on Monday to make it clear just how far Alabama has come in such little time. 11 votes in this week's poll, could see a significant jump if they can manage another 2-0 weekend in the SEC.

Well, to date they haven't played an especially strong schedule.
They have only played 6 matches against teams with a pablo below 100, and are 4-2 against them.
That kind of record doesn't really turn any heads.
Now, if they can beat either Kentucky or A&M (and they better beat Tennessee) they might move up into the rankings.

It is hard to assess the followingSEC teams LSU, TEXAS A&M, Arkansas and alabama for the conference simply because of some non conference head scratchers. The wins against USC and San Diego now don't look near as good for the Aggies as two weeks ago. Arkansas losses to oral Roberts, alabama to LIU Brooklyn etc. those four to me are battling for the third they six spots in conference. How they do against Kentucky and Florida could be the separation between the four. If any of these lose to the bottom four by having an off night could affect them in the future RPI

Despite the weak schedule, the NCAA committee will have them in the tournament. Alabama has done nothing special to date.

Pablo has them sitting at #47 right now. However, bluepenguin projects them to be around 30 in the final RPI. That's a sure thing for the NCAA tournament. I think if they continue winning at the level bluepenguin projects, that's about where they'd end up in Pablo, too.

The bluepenguin projection shows Alabama with a 12-6 projected SEC record. Alabama only plays Florida, Kentucky and LSU once (already beat LSU) and A&M twice. They could easily be 14-4 and could finish better with an upset or 2. They are set up for a good record but at the same time their RPI will suffer by not playing the top teams in conference twice. Fortunately they only play MSU once so that helps their RPI.

Krystal Rivers is awesome! Walk on that turned out to be one of the best players in the SEC. She's certainly not the tallest kid around, but with her leaping ability and cannon arm, she carries the Tide. She might be in the running for SEC player of the year and first or 2nd team AA.

I think if Alabama keeps it up they will finish in the top half of the conference. I don't know if they will contend with Kentucky, Missouri, Florida, but their start is undeniably impressive.

Alabama's avg. RKPI for teams OOCthey've beaten is 169, with losses to LIU Brooklyn, who has played a very hard schedule, at RKPI 42 and Virginia at 66. If Alabama loses to Florida and Kentucky in their only matches against those two, and to Texas A & M twice, they become the poster child for screams from outside the SEC about howling tigers with legs of sand, not steel.

Have you seen Missouri play this season? Alabama will definitely 'contend' with and likely finish higher than them in conference.

Yes. Ole Miss knocked them off the other night. I don't expect Missouri to be down for much longer. IMO they will recover soon. I also wouldn't count the Rebels out of finishing in the top half of the SEC. They were up on South Carolina, 2-0, but couldn't close the door. It's going to be an interesting battle to the end of the season.
