Who are some good recruits for 2015? Which schools should have the best programs?

Sarah Sponcil has got to be one if not the top recruit for sand. When paired with the senior @ LMU they are going to be tuff to beat.
If Claes completes the dance without a late tourney blip she & Hughes should give everyone a run for the individual championship.
Look for Hawaii, LMU, USC & Pepp to be in the run for team finals.

What Senior are you talking about? Both Metter (who is in LMU Graduate School and Keil return. Regardless, LMU should be much stronger with her.

Replace LMU with FSU. LMU will have very good top pair but not the depth of those other four teams. FSU and Hawaii have two very solid swedish players playing for them in 2015.

Well, it would be breaking up LMU's #1 team last year that made it to the semi-finals in Alabama. I am curious as to who would be blocking as they both are top defensive players.

Metter/Keil didn't really have a great season, generally getting knocked around by the number one teams from USC, FSU, Hawaii, and LBSU. They had two good wins, both against Pepp, with one of them getting Metter/Keil into the national semi's (I was there, and Metter was just outstanding in that match). Sponcil and Metter are, by a good margin, the two best players on the roster. And Sponcil is very comfortable playing in front of a defender. With Sponcil/Metter at #1 and (likely) Bush/Keil at #2, LMU is going to be dangerous at the top of the order (so to speak).

Well, you obviously know LMU very well and I have never seen Sponcil play Sand (from what I have heard, she is great.) Her being able to play outside instead of setting has definitely put LMU's Indoor program on a higher level. I am not sure that LMU is overall stronger moving Keil down, but I would expect Coach Black and Coach Mayer will figure that out. Thanks.

Cal just hired a full time sand coach - Meagan Schmitt, former Cal player and Tom Black's assistant (indoor and sand) the past few years at LMU. I wonder if/when other NorCal schools will follow suit...I'm looking at you, Dunning.

Has Stanford started recruiting sand-only players like Cal has?

Has Stanford started recruiting sand-only players like Cal has? I haven't heard of Stanford actively recruiting sand-only players to date. I have zero inside knowledge of what Stanford wants to do with their sand program, but I suspect they will get more active with recruiting (and hiring a sand coach) when the NCAA grants the sport championship status - which, BTW, I'm hearing is being fast-tracked by the NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics.

And there it is. I've been told that in the history of the NCAA, there has never been a faster transition from emerging sport status to approval as an championship sport.
