Very interesting lineup for USC.. Nwanebu is now playing all six rotations and getting better and beter each match. Emily Young is now only setting in the front row and Pizzasegola subs in for her in the backrow. Passing is a little better now with Schmidt subbing in for Ruddins in the backrow. I hope Mick does not mess with this lineup, becauae it is working and will just improve game by game. The only thing I would change is having Dunn as the other Middle.

Yeah, this is the basically the plan B or C that I was wondering would happen. I think it was too much to ask for Gillis/Ruddins to pass/hit for six rotations given that Bricio and Whittingham aren't dimes on serve receive. I would figure that the Italian or Young could set all the way around, but glad if this permutation can work.

Backrow she is a liability, as is Pizzasegola in the frontrow. Pizzasegola is GREAT at setting the middles, she needs to do it often. What the hell is going on with Hayley Crone? How do you run a 5-1 as a sophomore but can't even hold your own as a backrow 6-2 setter? Hayley is a wonderful person but wow... something must be going on?

USC with the second set 25-18. Both Nwanebu and MK Marshall are from Texas, I wonder how many times they played each other before this. Coppell HS(Marshall) and Lovejoy HS(Nwanebu) are different divisions but both are powerhouses and in North Texas so probably pretty often! Coppell would play Lovejoy in pre-season tourneys, and they usually scheduled one match against each other before districts started but Lovejoy was 3A/4A while Coppell was 5A so they never would faceoff during State Playoffs. They both played for TAV's top team, MK Marshall was one year behind always, but they probably would scrimmage. Also, both did individual training with the same person and would be training together sometimes, so they know each other pretty well volleyball wise.

Well, USC has figured out that no Crone and no Gillis is a good thing for them. I'm not entirely sold on the new rotation due to the quality of the competition, but desperate times call for desperate measures, so why not try something new.

Nwanebu 20 kills on no errors against a solid team tells me this should be tested against the Cardinal this weekend. You've gotta find a way to win somehow, Mick Haley will.

Those Coppell/Lovejoy HS matches were pretty good. Coppell had a little more firepower, with Cassidy Pickrell (UC-Irvine), Erica Bohannon (Tulsa), Chiaka Ogbogu (Texas), and Kylie Pickrell (commit to ASU) in addition to MK Marshall. Lovejoy had some D1 players as well. Coppell went 3-0 in the matches, but it was fun to watch. MK played middle on the Coppell team that year, and Ebony played RS, sometimes 6 rotations, others just front row.

Young needs to learn how to set the middle but other than that I don't think Haley has a better option than this lineup right now.

Just give Ogoms or Shraer the memo so they don't waste energy on an approach then.

Yes, all those High Schools are in the Dallas area. Many top programs were not even mentioned (Southlake Carroll, Plano(s), Hebron, Pearce, Heritage, etc. )
