Or it happens when a very charismatic coach departs.

Anybody know whats going on over there? Sounds like half the team has either quit or transferred. Unfortunately, that's all too common when coaches leave. Hopefully for the sake of the Big East, a similar story doesn't play out at Xavier. Yea but Ryan didn't leave and they had a great year. Very surprising 3 would jump ship like that.

Creighton lands 2 recruits, a 2015 and a 2016. DePaul also referenced in the article. Kelsey O’Connell has always dreamed of playing volleyball for Creighton. Jaclyn Taylor will be a perfect fit for the Bluejays, her coach says. Both committed to play in one big weekend for CU. Taylor is a 6-foot junior setter from St. Charles North High School in Illinois. O’Connell is a 6-2 senior middle blocker from Omaha Marian. Newspaper Story

DePaul only lost 1 who left, everyone else will be back, and having a full spring and summer together unlike last year i believe will help them out a lot....

Looks like all of the teams get 4 games this year. I believe they only had 2 games broadcast last year. A step in the right direction with the growing popularity of the sport.

Creighton is probably gonna sweep the Big East. I don't see any other team challenging them for the top spot.

Creighton is probably gonna sweep the Big East. I don't see any other team challenging them for the top spot. It should be an interesting season, as a lot of the top players in the conference have either graduated or transferred. I wouldn't be surprised to see St. John's make a run towards the top of the conference with Palgutova leading the way

Creighton is probably gonna sweep the Big East. I don't see any other team challenging them for the top spot. Look for Xavier to be a challenger. Their highly regarded 2014 recruiting class are now Sophomores. All but Earl stayed put after coaching change. Marquette has a good returning group even after Bailey loss. Seton Hall and Butler are my question marks and DePaul could be a sleeper. Creighton should emerge but 2-4 will be fun.

Yes, the lost Earl but they had a very young line up otherwise and they had a lot of potential. I have no idea what is going to happen with Seton Hall because they graduated a lot. The could possibly have their line up be made out of mostly freshman so their youth have to be ready to compete. But some of them do look ready to make an immediate impact so it will be interesting to see how they do. I look forward to seeing Tessa Fournier play again. For Marquette, they only have one returning MB, and everyone else either graduated or transferred. I don't think that Courtney Kintzel is coming back for her 5th season of eligibility so that is a lot of offense that is lost. This will probably be a real test to the coaching staff to see what they can do with the team. I have never seen Joy Miley or Jenna Rosenthal play and I believe those players are the ones who are believed to make big impacts this year.

Last year, they had 3 wins against Bradley, Chicago State and Providence. I don't see any program changers coming in or transferring in. They deserve no mention in regards to challenging for the top spot.

Xavier has to replace their setter and libero, who were two of the three best players on the team last year. Those are pretty significant holes to fill.

Seton Hall will not be close to what it was last season. They've graduated their setter, best outside, a starting middle and rumor is they're losing their right side player as well.
Depaul and Villanova have everyone back and should be better
Georgetown only has 10 on their roster but has some good players coming in
St. John's loses one great OH but still has one and you never know what they'll bring in internationally
Providence will be better in 2016, but not yet
Butler loses the majority of their offense from last year...they're going to be young.
Xavier should be about the same as last year, if they have a quality setting replacement.
Marquette replaced great talent with great athletes, will be interesting to see if they are capable of hanging with top 25 teams
Creighton is poised for a run in is league for the next 4-5 years as they are stacked with the best players and are getting better. They could be a top 25 team this year and higher in the next couple.
