I tried to watch their stream when they played Wisconsin earlier in the year. It was awful. I hoped the people doing it had learned and improved (for one thing, the primary focus is showing the live points), but I guess that isn't the case sadly.

The CSU Video team (pictured below) obviously has "high" standards ...

A little ridiculous to make a thread about a free Internet stream sucking don't you think anyways. Couldn't be any worse than the joke of a stream I saw from a Stanford match earlier this year. Commenting on CSU I have seen them play live. I will say this, they aren't truly great at anything but they are good at everything that is why I think they will make the sweet 16 anything after that is on them and greatly depends on seeding and what region they land in. They are just good at everything. Good floor defense, good blocking, good setting and good hitting. It puts them in position to beat a lot of the teams ranked below them. They are consistent. This CSU team isn't going to beat themselves they will make you beat them. They have played a good schedule and the MWC isn't close to being one of the top conferences in the country but I think they will be prepared and playing at home I have them favored over most other teams. They do all the little things in volleyball well. I could see them beating good teams who are inconsistent cause those teams don't always play tough I am looking at Nebraska, Illinois, maybe even USC. You have to play good volleyball to beat this team.

Why can't I comment on the video stream, particularly when I found it to be so bad- (and I watch quite a few Stanford matches and they are great compared to CSU).

No there are not many teams in the country who can beat CSU at home if they host and are seeded which they are almost guaranteed at this point.

Colorado State is #16 in RPI now. They are surrounded by Big 12 and Pac 12 teams. As Colorado State progresses through the rest of their MWC schedule, which averages RKPI of 160, their RPI can only go down, even with wins. Doubt victories over BYU, ASU and Marquette will warrant ignoring RPI to replace another team for a seed.

Hopefully it does. Playing tough and losing inside the pac12, for example, doesn't make you a better team. Winning makes the better team. Not a top 10 seed but possibly one of those last six.

CSU sometimes loses focus and plays down to the level of their opponent. I can see CSU even losing a match in conference if they pull this crap again but overall they have a chance of making it out of the 2nd round and that's it.

Luckily for me I'm in Moby for pretty much all of these matches and so don't have to endure the streams. I was out of town for the first tournament of the season and was disappointed in both the camera and live editing work, as I am every year.
Even my mother, who follows the Rams almost entirely on the web, comments regularly on the poor production quality of the streams and believes the KCSU announcers they use for voice-over are complete idiots. She's 80.
Oddly, she said last night's camera work & editing were a substantial improvement (once the stream was up reliably after the first set) over earier streams, but the announcers were still total ass-clowns of course.
Remember, there is no condition so bad that it cannot get worse.

Life is definitely RPI-rough in the MWC. Fortunately, this year the Rammies play to the two lowest rated teams only once. Ralph, you seem to have a beef with CSU, or maybe a mutton. This year it's video, last year it was not giving Lawrence a clear release from NLI (although defended BYU for doing the same thing with Munoz). Then again, you did have one of the best lines about the Simpson affair, so maybe you just call it like you see it. Having seen the Rams a few times, I am inclined to agree with volleyfan24 - they are not great at a lot of things, but they are good at a number of important things. Not sure how they match up physically against the top teams, though. Back to work...

I have to think the committee would be nuts to keep the Rams from getting a seed if they win out and Wisconsin doesn't implode, which I don't see happening. RPI is a tool for selection, but not the only one. Also, it is not like the teams in the 11-20 range that are competing for seeds have set the world on fire this season. Almost all of them lost last week. I think the most likely scenario is that Colorado and maybe the Big Sky champ get sent to Fort Collins, with a team flying in.

To be fair, I found CSU's video quality to be fair when WI was out there. The stream itself was fine, but the camera work left much to be desired. However, the commentator was good, and most importantly, the stream was available and free, so I could see my Badgers on the road.
