Great comeback win by the Bears on a night when their Kills leader (Malloy) was struggling a bit. Huge contributions by Richburg, Hill, Munch-Soegaard and Bardaji!!

Probably a little awkward for Malloy to play her old team.

Question. If Iowa State was #26 in rpi, then they beat KU at #18 on Wed, what rpi would they have been before they played Baylor?

I wonder if CJL is maybe having second thoughts about turning down Madison with Carlinin?

This makes things interesting for Baylor. If they continue playing well, we could see them as a bubble candidate. But that loss to #254 RPI Portland may keep them out

Well, the NCAA committee uses an updated RPI after all games are concluded. So for a team like Iowa State, it is difficult to tell if they will finish top-25 RPI or not. Baylor also has a victory over Kansas State:. Their situation is interesting. RPI may keep them out.

They will be lucky to go 4-4 in their remaining 8 BIG XII matches with games still @kansas, @isu, K State, Texas, OU, TCU, wvu, and @tech. At 2-6 currently they would have to go 7-1 and have a win against Texas. I don't see a team under .500 from the BIG XII getting into tourney.

Then you don't know the history of the Big 12 or any of the top 3-4 conferences. They all get teams in with sub .500 conference records. Teams get in because of top 25 wins and top 50 wins.
Does the committee look at a teams ranking when they beat them or the teams ranking at the end of the season? I thought it was at the time they played.

When was the last time a Big XII team made the tourney with a sub .500 record? (I don't know myself but stopped looking after 5 years back) The PAC and B1G are the only two conferences that may warrant a bid for a sub .500 team. The ACC, BIG XII, SEC all have 4-6 teams that will be over .500 and usually have 1 team per year that is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference (Texas, Florida, FSU is tops in ACC, but UNC is not far behind). I am not saying Baylor cannot turn around their season, I just do not think they will get a bid with a sub .500 conference record in Big XII.

You have to understand that PTW is a major homer about Baylor. This happens each season for Baylor.
Beating a down Iowa State team in 5 is not something to brag about. Unfortunately for Baylor, Taylor Barnes eligibility is up.

Baylor has some talent but I just do not think their program is run like a upper echelon B1G, PAC or Texas, etc. They should be in the top 4 of the Big XII this year though.

Somebody has to balance out PTW's unreasonable expectations!
But you are correct - now I feel like I am bashing the Chicago Cubs!

The Committte bases their decision almost entirely on rpi and wins in top 25, Top 50 and top 100. Conference record has almost nothing to do with it. The UT homer should still be licking his wounds after being swept by the Sooners.
