If by "all right eventually" you mean pablo predicting they will end up 10-10 in conference, I guess that's true. For all the talk of USC's annus horribilis, they'll still be a tournament team, Top 25 all season, and likely shipped out to a subregional in the South or East where they'll have a solid chance (maybe more than if they did snag a seed - and BYU). Compare that to Cal's "down" year, or UCLA last season. So "all right eventually" isn't too far off. I guess that's what I was saying too, sort of. They have lost a lot of matches, but they have lost them to some very good teams. They are still reasonably likely to make it to a regional appearance somewhere, unless they get unlucky in their draw.

With a relatively easier second half of the season, USC "should" improve their record a bit.

With a relatively easier second half of the season, USC "should" improve their record a bit. Sorry, help me understand how the second half is "relatively easier" for USC? They already lost to Oregon, ASU and UCLA at home. In the second half, they have to play Oregon, Arizona, and UCLA on the road. The only team remaining on the schedule that they lost to on the road but now get at home is Stanford.

Colorado now has 3 wins against the teams I was tracking as "favorites". It's been a tricky year -- except for Washington and Stanford none of the other teams have managed to definitively separate themselves from the others.

On the night when Arizona lost the season sweep to Colorado, ASU barely avoided the same fate with Utah.

Colorado, Washington, and Stanford all won on the road last night. Utah almost won.
Is it easier to be on the road than at home on a big holiday/party night like Halloween? Does a road team have fewer distractions than a home team?
