Which raises the question of who is on the committee and whether simply giving them carte blanche would be an improvement. If representative of Div 1 as a whole, the committee would be heavily weighted in favor of eastern schools. Part of the idea of RPI and other criteria is to take the politics out of it, or at least to cover the committee's tracks. This is it: www.avca.org/about/committees/members-division-1/At first glance, membership seems a little geographically weighted towards the South. In other words, 3 out of 26 are from western schools (Pacific, Northern Arizona, and Arizona).
