Would you rather have her block like Katie Slay or hit like Merete Lutz?

Why not? If she grows a little more she won't even have to jump.

I saw Lutz play sophomore and junior year of HS and this girl is about same level as Lutz as this age, but Lutz improved so much during her red-shirt freshman year.

I have to say, when I see someone that tall that young, I worry about injuries. Aren't we pressing against the physical limits of the human form here? But then again, there are basketball players so...

Having seen her play at her HS regionals this week, she is not as athletic as Ellen Chapman was at her age, nor can she jump like Katherine Dykstra, but she looks to be more in the body type of Elle Ohlander. She did impress me with her quickness in transition as she was able to get a kill. While she was late in closing the block to the outside vs. York, I think she will increase her VB IQ to the point where she will be closing that block regularly.
My question is: will Sheffield tell her to play with a better club like his predecessor told Chapman & Dykstra?

My question is: will Sheffield tell her to play with a better club like his predecessor told Chapman & Dykstra? Be fair, Ellen was like 4 inches shorter at that age! From the video I've seen (most of it HS), Dana mostly just has to stand at the net with her hands in the air and hop an inch or two to be the best blocker on her team. If she's in the body type of Elle, then feed that girl a sandwich and send her to the weight room. I hope she works on her plyo. I also wondered if we see her move to a different club for the spring or possibly her junior season. I had never heard of the club she plays for. She just started taking volleyball seriously about a year ago, so Sheff might suggest she go train elsewhere.

Uh, that's great and all, but what about 2018 and 2019 prospects?

Ok, I know FSK III (Badger fans know who I am talking about) is 7'0, but when I read about a female 6'7 I think - pitutary gland problem? Marfan's syndrome? Who knows, maybe her dad is 6'10 and her mom is 6'4. I know, it's just an inch more than Ohlander, but I almost feel like that is the threshold for hmmm. I do recall a 6'9 female at Michigan State for basketball and she was tall and looked pretty fragile.
I wondered about the club too. I haven't heard it of, and although I certainly haven't heard of all of them, I am familiar with the top tier ones that tend to spit out Big Ten recruits like Munciana, etc...and Triangle in NC.
I like the fact that she is a two-sport athlete. We've made out well with those.

I'm rather acutely aware of it, as it killed Rainbowspouse's childhood best friend about 8 years ago. I hope that someone has screened her for it.
