TBH, I think Purdue is now behind Minnesota in the Big Ten bubble order (we'll also see based on Monday's RPI - I think people forget that it's actually THIS week's RPI - and not the final season RPI - that has a bearing on tourney selection), and may be behind Michigan St. based on what happens. Purdue is not in a good spot. They are the biggest anti-Trojan cheerleaders this weekend. My understanding is that it is NOT this week's (Monday, Nov. 24) RPI that the Committee uses for its selections, but one generated just prior to their decision-making. For many years, they did not release that RPI, as far as I could find, which is what caused many to be confused over the extent to which RPI was relied upon. A further complication to the at-large bid selection process was caused by the loss this P.M. of Ohio to Western Michigan (2-3 after being up at home 2-0) in the MAC tourney semifinals. The last I saw, Ohio was #39 RPI, ahead of Western Kentucky, Utah, Illinois State, San Diego, Santa Clara, SMU, Purdue, Virginia Techa, Michigan State, Xavier Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Tulsa and Pacific (in order, behind Ohio). Ohio, will likely take a hit RPI-wise after the loss, but how much of one?

Although I believe they call them song girls.

There are a couple very big matches on the last night of the regular season. It will be interesting to see if they are factored into the seedings considerably. Penn State hosts Nebraska and Texas hosts Florida. Not to mention potential bid-stealing matches in the Big East, Missouri Valley and Sun Belt conference tournaments.

This is the final rpi before the selection unless the committee gets an earlier update, which it seems they should. Minnesota has wins against this weeks rpi #16!iowa St. and #33 Ohio State; Purdue's top rpi win is OHio St., next is 38LSU, and 43 San Diego. Minny has Purdue 4-3 in games too.

I think if the Gophers win their final two against Ohio State and Indiana they'll get their bid. 1 win leaves everything to chance. Also, assuming a Purdue loss vs WI, I think the winner of them vs Michigan State punches a ticket, the other gets left out. *BTW, go Wildcats and Bruins!!!!!

My 2 cents aren't worth much, but here they are anyways: When Purdue is on, they are ON and can beat anyone in the country. If I am a seeded team, I don't think there are many teams I would want to play less. That being said, this Purdue team is highly susceptible to off nights, and unfortunately for the boilers, these off nights have cost them several games they should have never lost. (see: Iowa, SLU, and they outscored Western Kentucky by 7)

But sometimes they knock out a few other teams along the way.

While I would agree they can be on and off, their record in the Big Ten which is a pretty decent league says there is more on than off. They're 12-6 in the standings, but only have 2 4 wins (Minneosta, Ohio St., the Michigans all at home) against non-doormats, and Minnesota and the Michigans aren't what they used to be. The unbalanced schedule, coupled with the program's reputation and perceived talent, has hidden that they actually are more "off" than "on".
