Now that a bunch of preseason tournaments have been completed, I would love to hear what people have to say. Maybe top 5 rankings for their respective regions or what teams are up/down from last year.

Oshkosh should be a favorite once again this year. They're returning mostly the same lineup from last year if not better. They have only played in two preseason tournaments so far and won both of them, I believe. It seems like Madison also has a solid team this year. La Crosse will again be a favorite in DII, losing only two players from their runner up finish last year.

the sac st. invitational is this weekend... 16 teams.... no big teams really. Sac state has 5 teams, 2 of them alumni. Other big team is fresno st. The rest are nccvl D2 teams.

hmmm. UCLA ranked way above. Rankings are always uncertain of course. Unfortunately rankings are only done monthly, which makes them out of date fast. Every two weeks rankings should be easy enough to do. hmmmm.

Rankings are also only as good as the results submitted to the ranking committee. How can you rank a team with no results? Retuning players on a roster does not help as a new team could have a few impact freshmen or transfers that makes them better than a ranked team.

That's why Feb 4 rankings are all over the place likely, and by Mar 4, next ranking, half the season is over.
Voting ballot for rankings should be an automatic thing ....weekly. If a team doesn't submit all scores, home and away, they won't get much consideration.

Cal Poly is the best team in CA. Disagree. That they had to go 3 with Sonoma State (who is a great overachieving/scrappy D2 squad, undersized at both OHs and setter, not to discredit them) is telling. SLO looks weight room strong, they're quick and have good ball control, but they don't have the size to match up with lengthier players (Sonoma's 6'5-6'7 MBs/OPP gave them problems).
