Since the HS thread is starting to get a little heated plus the fact thst tryouts start today, what perfect timing to start a new thread for the upcoming club season. Good luck to all boys and coaches at tryouts.

Any news where former lightning players are going? I heard that all the kids at 18 are playing at MVC can anyone else confirm this?

Any MVC guys make the move to the Sting 17s group? I know that Wisconsin people were hoping to get each team to have all the best talent with kids switching.

Looks like Wisconsin will have very very strong club teams at almost every age, looking forward to seeing some great finishes at nationals this year!

You would think they would be silly not to right? Over the years, I believe that this MVC team has taken matches from the Sting (formerly lightning) 17s team. I think the fact that these kids stayed could be a great move for them. This could be the year that this MVC team establishes themselves as the top Wisconsin team in the state. They have won a couple sets over the years (14's), but never a match.

Yeah this years MVC 17s team has never beaten the Sting 17s group, I don't see it happening this year either.

They have won a couple sets over the years (14's), but never a match. My mistake, I obviously had my facts wrong. I still believe that this MVC team might have more fire power than the Sting team this year. I heard that Sting (formerly lightning) lost some key players, and it seems like MVC has kept all their players. When will rosters be up? All the mainstay players came back with the exception of their #2 MB, who is not playing club this year. Don't think there will be any drop off from where they have been the last few years. #2 Libero and #3 OH went to MVC.

I'm not disagreeing with you but I don't think anyone can be counted out as of now. MVC picked up a new middle and a real nice outside from lightning. With the way that some kids develop i.e Klassen from being on MVC 2s to a top player in the state I would always hold my breath to see how things pan out. Saying this Sting holds the advantage but nothing is ever certain in this sport.

I believe there were two MVC boys that got offers from Sting, but don't know if they accepted. They did not take the Sting offers, chose to stay at MVC. Interesting that with this age group, in the past three years, multiple boys from MVC have received Lightning/Sting offers but none have taken them, choosing to stay at MVC.

With the exception of 17s, MVC looks to have the stronger teams this year at each high school age group. Something that I think will be interesting to watch as this year plays out will be how MVC 2s team do compared to Sting teams at each age level. I know at some age groups, 15s in particular, there were tough decisions for some boys who got a Sting offer and an MVC 2s offer. Can one club's 2s team be stronger than another club's 1s team?
