Seems to me that the TV-network-dictates on scheduling have taken a real toll on Pac-12 volleyball attendance.
All season long fans have been subjected to schedules all over the place.
Sunday morning games. Wednesday games. Early start times on weekdays. Late start times on weekdays.
It's great if you want to watch a lot of volleyball on TV. Not so great if you work and have to fight traffic for 5 p.m. matches. Or have to work early after an 8 p.m. start time.
Finally, yesterday, all the Pac-12 matches were on a Friday. But even then, the USC at OSU match had a start time of 11:50 a.m. on a Friday. Who can attend or watch that? (And don't get me started on Stanford at Washington being scheduled at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving eve!)
For three of the Friday matches, attendance was okay. Not spectacular, but okay. For the other three, including that Corvallis mid-day match, attendance was horrible. Fans at Berkeley and Pullman have apparently lost interest in this season.
Even the match at Stanford, where the #1 team in the nation is setting a win-streak record and facing a surging opponent, has to be considered an attendance disappointment.
Arizona at Washington 3,369 UCLA at Oregon 2,346 Utah at Stanford 1,888 USC at OSU 719 Col at Cal 454 ASU at WSU 368

A lot of students either had left campus or were in the process of leaving. It is not unusual for matches to have low attendance totals during Thanksgiving break, except for those programs that have lots of locals supporting them (e.g., U-Dub).

I heard there are not too many tickets left for the Stanford match on Wednesday.

Yeah, I'm both curious and optimistic about the crowd at Stanford-UW. Despite all the complaints about 5 pm on Thanksgiving eve, traffic, and a lack of students, I just have a feeling that attendance will be very good. And I'd be shocked if there was not a strong Stanford contingent in the crowd. I attended the Stanford-USC match in the Galen Center, and there were a LOT of Stanford fans in attendance.

I heard there are not too many tickets left for the Stanford match on Wednesday. Reserved, I presume. There should be plenty of GA seats available, however. Just need to show up early to get a good seat. Close to 3,400 was actually pretty good for UW, considering how bad the weather and traffic was.

Now that Stanford in rather easy fashion has handled both Utah and Colorado, the Stanford-at-Washington match is just one click away from being meaningless.
Just to get even a share of the Pac-12 title, UW would have to rely on Cal defeating Stanford. And that assumes Washington can defeat Stanford, which, IMO, is going to require Washington to play their best match of the year.
And even if UW can upset Stanford, after that there's probably a better chance of WSU upsetting UW than there is of Cal defeating Stanford.

... there's probably a better chance of WSU upsetting UW than there is of Cal defeating Stanford. Wouldn't you say that the chance that ASU may upset UW tomorrow later today is better than either of the above?

While contending with Thanksgiving Eve duties, a lot of people have that day off and if the dorms aren't closed, there will be stranded students with nothing else to do. The fact that the only match is being played at Washington is a gift. Stanford fans would be more than happy to change places with you all and have that problem.

Huskies will be right in the middle of the lull between playing Stanford and playing in the tournament. Plus, they will be on the road in the Palouse, rather than playing at home. And they will have all the distractions of Thanksgiving. I don't really believe in so-called "trap matches," but:

The arena seats 10,000. No way in hell will they be within 200-300 seats of filling up Hec Ed.
