Did he seriously say this? I agree that USC has two of the best pin hitters in the country but outside of Bricio and Nwanebu (who has suffered a lull in play this season due to injury) I wouldn't take any of their other players. Oregon has a more balanced and better players this year. His actual quote was that it was a tough match, and USC is good - he picked them #1 in the preseason poll because he thought they had the best talent in the conference. And I'm pretty sure Moore would take a few of their other players, especially Abercrombie and Dunn. I guess its all prespective SC looked to be a title contender but no one realized what a huge loss they took without Hagglund, Olgard, and Shaw. The absence of floor defense is visible. I think SC will be back next season with a healthier Nwanebu but right now Bettendorf is better than her. Also Shebby looks to be better than Ruddins this season. Scott is in my opinion one of the better setters in the conference and better than anyone SC has not to mention Benson who one of the best liberos in the conference/country and I am sure SC would kill for her.

I also think most people underestimate the seriousness and impact of Nwanebu's injury. Basically, she broke her back.
She's playing better, but still not the force she was last season.

Agree I remember watching an SC match a week or so ago and the announcer had touched on the injury and how Nwanebu had told Mick that she wanted to "play herself back into shape." I think she is still a threat and once more comfortable could be her All American self. That is a huge injury and many people did just dismiss it like a ankle sprain. I hope for her she can. SC is still competitive even without her being 100%.

Many were questioning why Mick was playing her so much.

So Haley Crone was injured weeks ago against Colorado and will (likely) miss the rest of the season??? (according to the announcers) I never heard than explanation before of why she hasn't played, all these weeks?? Strange.
"Oregon douche bags" is quite the appropriate name for these annoying clowns. Much worse than any other team's loud fans. Though I despise the "U...S...See ya!" stupid chant done by the idiot male cheerleaders at the Galen Center. Male cheerleaders should be banned!

She got hit in the face by a Taylor Simpson kill. I always thought Mitch just decided to pull Crone because she wasn't playing that great. When he did the switch with Young, USC actually looked better.

I cant believe as good as Mick is a recruiter, he can't get a setter in the caliber of, say, an LC or Hancock or Bugg to put those good talent in use.

I had very similar injury and am amazed she came back as quick as she did. She is not 100% and will not be until next year if she has full recovery. Her injury has really hampered USC this year, and I believe they brought her back too soon because she has not been anywhere near the 2013 player.

Her injury didn't affect her this season because she only really played 1 match after the incident. She's also a senior, so she will not be around next year.

Her back injury occurred in the off-season. She has been playing all season. Yeah, I got it now. There's another USC thread discussing Crone so I got mixed up.

She's playing herself into shape by playing 6 rotations I guess. I'm hoping that her playing this season was a good idea.
