Standard! it's just sad that players only get partial scholarships. a player in high demand wouldn't even get a full scholarship?

If you had someone like carlini on the womens side, how much of a Game changer, they might. It all depends on how the coach divides it.

Theocharidis was on a full schollie. Crazy to believe that... so the rest of UH had 3.5 scholarships split among them.

sounds like giving full scholarships could lure big time players to come enroll into that school.

4.5 scholarships is spread over 20-player rosters Is this the standard for all men's volleyball collegiate program or differs from school to school? DI schools get 4.5 schollies. DII schools get 2.5.

Although I am a CAL Alumni, I've always followed Hawaii Athletics because I'm from there. Hawaii definitely had a great Spring in Athletics, with Women's Water Polo, Women's Sand Volleyball and Men's Volleyball. However, when it came down to the post-season tournament, it was just devastating to watch or hear about the results. In a nutshell the disappointment was a lot worse than the excitement of winning that they brought this year. I guess, the million dollar question is that will Hawaii Men's Volleyball ever win a National Title? Granted they won in 2002, which was later vacated by the NCAA, so that doesn't count.
Women's Water Polo lost to USC (which was expected), but then lost to Princeton by a point. But on paper, Hawaii was the better team.
Women's Sand Volleyball lost to LBSU in the 1st Round 3-2, won FSU in Consolation 3-2 and then later was upset by Pepperdine 3-2. They were favored to compete for the National Title against USC. Of course, LBSU ended up with 2nd place despite a 7th seed.
Men's Volleyball losing to Pepperdine and Penn State and they were at least favored to win it all this year.
What I'm trying to convey is that just like in professional sports, why my team's lose, I avoid Sportscenter or MLB/NBA/NFL tonight like it's a plague. To watch it feels like rubbing salt in a fresh cut wound. I just hate losing.

Then dwell on it for a week.....Frustrating, but I sure hope one of the indoor team wins out.

The Rule that was behind that title being vacated is now no longer a rule. Just saying... Exactly. If they wanted to they could petition the NCAA to have their title reinstated but it doesn't look like they're interested in doing that. Right now their championship banner is just sitting on someone desk in the AD's office.
