At 3pm Pacific Time on Pac12 networks. #1 Stanford visits bay rival California for a chance to become the sole Pac 12 conference champions.

If there is a tie for the conference title (highly unlikely) how will they handle the whole Pac-12 trophy presentation?
Will they split the thing in half and give half to Stanford in Berkely and ship the other half to Pullman? And which team gets which half? Top or bottom? Left side, right side?
Or do they just have cheap trophies at both locations to cover any eventuality?
Reality is (IMO) Cal has almost no chance of upsetting Stanford. WSU, however, could knock of Washington. First of all it's Pullman...never an easy trip. And for the Cougar players and coaching staff, this match means a lot. A Cougar win makes up for an otherwise disappointing season.
And while Stanford has an easy bus ride to Berkeley, UW had to travel to Pullman on Thanksgiving day, is coming off the incredible high of a win in front of 8K+ Wednesday and will probably be playing in front of a few hundred in Boehler Gym.

As usual, and not surprisingly, I disagree with you. Whereas I believe that both Washington and Stanford will win today, Stanford's win in less certain. U-Dub will sweep WSU for sure; they're on a high, playing great. Stanford just had its foundation rocked; they will not be sure what to expect from themselves, will have doubts. Cal has been playing better, beat USC, and loves to play spoiler to Stanford (as does WSU to Wash). Cal will test Stanford early, and might take a set. At least, I hope Stanford will regather themselves and prevail. Furthermore, Tomclen, it surprises me constantly how little confidence you display for your Huskies. It's sad.

But Cal is about twice as good as Wazoo

I do like to surprise people, but I think it's a stretch to suggest Stanford had their 'foundation rocked.' I think it's only going to fire them up, just like those two road losses for Washington were wake-up calls. I'd be willing to wager that not only will Stanford sweep...but it will be a dominating clinic put on by the Card.

Don't know about the trophy (maybe they make two), but UW would be the AQ for the tournament due to head-to-head.

Don't know about the trophy (maybe they make two), but UW would be the AQ for the tournament due to head-to-head. They do make two - if there is a tie, the Pac 12 awards co-championships. That's why there is a Pac 12 volleyball championship trophy in both Berkeley and Stanford for the 2010 season. And you're correct about the AQ - in 2010 Cal was the AQ based on sweeping the series with Stanford. Kind of a formality, though - doesn't have any meaning in respect to seeding for the NCAA tournament.

In 2010, Stanford was seeded higher than Cal at #3, Cal was #6 I believe...

Smallest crowd I have ever seen for a Stanford at Cal match. Not a surprise, I guess.

you have to play close to perfect to beat a team with as many weapons as Stanford, now on a 9-3 run and taking a `16-13 lead in set 1

Ahh, the old every-10-years championship tale about Stanford, so they're due. If I hear that story one more time, I'll ingest a cyanide capsule.
