As much I hope for something different, I think that this one will be a quick three game night for Wisky with the Boilers getting back on the plane trying to figure out how such a promising season devolved into where it's at now. For Purdue to steal this, something needs to happen that has yet to this season: the entire team shows up.

What is your sense of the problem? I've only seen Purdue a few times, all in West Lafayette. They played pretty well against ILL and well against PSU. They started out well against WI, but then lost the initiative. I haven't seen the other losses. Their road record is not very good. Why have the disappointed in the other matches? What changes on the road?

That IL was in Champaign, sorry! Still, they played pretty well against the number 3 team. It was close.

OP updated. Sorry I had to delete and recreate the poll because it was set up wrong.
Edit: Good lord, I had to do it again. Why can't you edit polls? I typed "buckeye" when I meant boiler.

With that Freshmen class and returning veterans I am so surprised at this season. Not sure any one thing can be pointed at.

Not saying that Wisky's aren't good (far from that actually) but I think Carlini makes them look better than they are. I think the duo of Cuttino/Jones is better than Nelson/Thompson.

Agree and also to suggest that Thomas is better than Drews is a stretch. Drews has the ability to terminate better she is better than Thomas and she can carry the Boilers on her own. I don't think Thomas has that. Drews was out with injury and hasn't been herself but Thomas I think largely like all Wisconsin players get the ball in a sweet spot because of Carlini. In any case the Badgers in 3 maybe 4 if Purdue puts up a fight.

What changes on the road? I doubted Purdue all season. I orginally posted an article at the beginning of the season highlighting Purdue and how they were hoping to reach the Final Four and now that just seems completely out of the question. They are easily the most disappointing team this season. Some could argue USC but Nwanebu still isn't 100% although that an excuse but to me Purdue has all the weapons to be great just really slumped. I look back on the match against Penn State I think if they would have beaten them at home they could have carried that momentum into more wins but they didn't.

I agree, looked at as simply a a comparison of OPP, Drews is better than Thomas, but Thomas helps the badgers in so many ways while also being a very good hitter on the RS and out of the back, that the comparison seems kind of silly.

Let's go conspiracy theory: any chance the Kelly throws this match to ensure his good friends get into the tournament?
