It was smart to play in Korea, they put a huge workload on their foreign players, which will help her get back into shape quick.

This match is probably not helping your argument much. Partizan is putting a team on the court that is younger than most NCAA teams (they started a 16yo, a 17yo and a bunch of 20-21yo). Partizan is basically a bunch of students who aren't either old enough or good enough to be sold to a good team. One would think that Cannes would completely dominate this match, not squeak by in 5 sets. So I finally watched the match and Tom's still the best passer/digger and really good hitter, she should still be on the NT.

I'll probably be laughed at for saying this, but if I had to chose hooker or Tom, I would chose hooker. We'll miss Tom, but not as much as hooker imo.

Wow, I was expecting some small drop off, not an improvement. The best female opposite in history and best American hitter of all time who hasn't reached her peak yet isn't on our NT. I can dream one day the current Karch rejects can assemble and challenge his A team to a match, the American flag can be raised upside down during the national anthem. Who is this woman?

It does not matter at this point in time. Tom is not part of the team as of today. Could she be in 2016? Maybe.

Yeah just wait till Hill and Robinson go in the shank tank.

Kokyu, this by far is the greatest post of the year, perhaps all time. I lol'd and am still lol-ing. I said from day one that Hooker would have a prolific career and show the world her athletic prowess. Last quadrennial, she was our bailout in tight situations and best scorer. Teams would camp two blocks on her, especially on important side-outs, freeing up our left-side attack and giving them more one-on-one hitting scenarios. Hooker spanked Kim (arguably the best female player in the world) in the Olympics in two different matches, and outplayed Sheila during pool play, and she should have been set more in the championship match. Kokyu, I know you're not a fan of Shankzilla, but would she be on that roster with Hooker and Tom? Does anyone know what Willoughby is up to these days?

I think picking the Olympic roster is going to be very hard we have so much talent but you can only take so many. I think its interesting the current group managed to pull off gold at the world championships. A history making feat. I think no matter who goes we will be ok.

Willoughby is not currently at the level to make our team better.
We should give Hodge the benefit of the doubt and assume she would get back to previous form, which would be terminal enough for a roster spot.

I don't think we need to wait for Hodge to get back into form. We have some very talented players already whom in the next year will be hands above her.

Hodge is just another Koshelva or Sonsirma: great terminator, horrible passer. Don't get me wrong, some teams would kill to have a player like Hodge, but USA relies too much on speed, accelerated by solid passing, to have her on the floor. It's striking how deep Team USA's bench will be in the quadrennial to come. If only we had a domestic league with enthusiastic support from national media, advertisers, etc....

Seems like Hooker is back on top form. Well, this is in Korea by the way where the block most of the time is inexistent. I love watching her, she looks to be having a lot of fun, which is great to see. is that her father in the stands? i really really hope she's on the team. Both her and coach need to suck it up and swallow some pride.

For all who think Logan Tom doesn't still have it. She is a scary competitor. Please, Karch, let her come back!!!
