I saw that Kayla Banwarth was at the Final Four. Is she not playing this season? She was to play in Azerbaijan together with Hugglund and Jackson but her club closed.

I don't know how much you follow international volleyball but Larson is having a poor season... Larson has been playing great for the US 2011-2012 and has been amazing her last season with Kazan.. Then she injured her ankle and has never been the same for the USA and now for Eczacibasi. In Italy earlier this year she has been struggling offensively, and that was OK but she has been having a lot of problems passing, which wasn't so good. Now in turkey she is doing the same thing.. Not attacking with good %, but also not passing so good.. Logan on the other hand with Cannes has a same role she had with USA NT 2010-2012.. She passing with some good numbers, sometimes she's even passing alone with the libero.. She's defending middle back, right back and left back! And in the last couple of matches she's hitting with good %, but what's more important she's scoring crucial points.. You can all watch the match with Vakifbank they won in CL.. She doesn't have great attacking %, but hasn't been blocked or made an error in crucial times and has scored the most important points.. I don't really know where you're getting your information about Larson, but for the first part of the season, she was one of the top scorers in the Turkish league. Watch their match against Vakifbank, or for something more recent, against Volero Zurich. They've rested Larson and de la Cruz significantly since the first couple of weeks because they can against weaker teams. Also, her passing, blocking, and serving is what kept her in the game in Italy when her attacking was down. Even the announcers recognized that. She had a rough Grand Prix and a rough start to the World Cup, but she also hasn't gotten significant rest in almost two years. Kazan's season was significantly longer than almost all of her teammates'. I'm surprised she isn't doing what Matt Anderson is doing and taking a break, especially since Eczacibasi is one of the favorites to win the CEV Championship this year, so it could be another long season for her. Also Logan really hasn't been that impressive in Cannes.

You're acknowledging Kokyu as someone with a great insight into what USA volleyball should be doing, and asking his opinion on personnel? If it were up to him Plum would be the setter and we would be firing the ONLY coach in US history to ever win a word title or olympic gold medal. Your expertise stops beyond Husker volleyball. And even then, I take what you say with a grain of salt, as a lot people on here have advised. My response to Kokyu regarded his comment about the "Karch rejects" playing in front of an inverted American flag. Quit trying to police this board; you're such a try-hard, and your fail attempts at being the Volleytalk sheriff make you look desperate for attention and validation. In my opinion, DMT is among the most knowledgeable and thoughtful posters on VT -- expertise that goes well beyond Nebraska. You may disagree with DMT's opinions, but his "street cred" is well known. Employing ad hominem attacks against him does not change that.

The game between RC Cannes vs the Russian team is sooo bad and boring. Russian's team is just bad all around. Faucette is playing and I didnt see her on the sidelines?

Odintsovo has some very high-level attackers, but their passing and setting is horrid. Combine that with this being a friendly tournament of no consequence, and you get something that's not quite "top volley"

I felt bad for Malykh she's a good young player.

I am curious if Logan was to return to the national. Would Karch have her float serve rather than jump serve. You know because he is all about being efficient... >_>

Would be interesting to see if it actually did better as she is getting older.

I agree. Although she has been effect most of her career when she jump serves. We'll only find out when she returns..

Didn't know it was a friendly tournament, Odintsovo just looked like a bunch of newbies playing. I felt bad for Malykh she's a good young player. Odinstovo has a great place in European/Russian volleyball, but around 2011 Dinamo Kazan & Krasnodar got big investments and Odinstovo hasn't been able to keep up. They stay in the top half of the Superleague table by developing young players, but they lose them to the richer clubs eventually. Malykh will be the same.

Here's the replay of RC Cannes: www.laola1.tv/en-int/video/zarechie-odintsovo-rc-cannes/277594.htmlTom played the entire time, got aced twice from my count, first time by Malykh on a short serve that would ace everyone and the second time an overpass on a tough serve. One non-ace shank but otherwise passed extremely well. Funny how Tom had one off match recently so teams decide to serve her every time now? Her kill percentage was excellent and only had one hitting error I believe. An amazing foot dig near the end of set three in addition to some great read digs. Two or three aces with three or four service errors and good number of OOS serves. Ebata played poorly, got blocked quite a bit. USA still needs Tom.
